I worked at Martin Marietta Materials full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to work if you are a married, middle-aged, white male

    Cons

Gross repeat EEOC violations. Micromanagement and hostilities directed at female office employees routinely. Terminations of same group right before 5 year (pension) mark regardless of job performance and evaluations. Do not file a disability claim or take a stand on fairness, because you must do as you are ordered or be shunned from the kingdom forever!

I worked at Martin Marietta Materials full-time

    Pros

    - Very good benefits - Provide Retirement benefits i.e. pension after 5 years of service - IT infrastructure is relatively current

    Cons

    - IT management lacks proper IT experience - Doesn't have flexible work environment (i.e. 1 or 2 day work from home) like modern IT department/company.

    Advice to Management

    - Should invest much more in IT to get proper competitive advantage - Instead of depending on the external consultants, should develop internal talent for long run benefits

    Pros

As a foreman you get a truck. There are some perks like you get to work while others sit at home in winter time.

    Cons

Key management are self serving lying hypocrites. Good managers just fall in line to keep their jobs. There is a throw everyone under the bus to get the attention off of you mentality throughout the entire division that poisons everything.

    Advice to Management

There is a reason why there is a high turn over rate. Look at the common denominator, its not the employees.
