Good but there is a major shortage of competent, hard-working, PCPs to do inpatient/outpatient work and call.

    Pros

Quality integration but getting worse last 5 years

    Cons

Too much of a 'Good ole Boy' club without quality PCPs coming up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Add about 20 QUALITY PCPs who will do both inpatient and outpatient to feed the hospital with the DNA/genetic variety to thrive.

I have been working at Martin Memorial Medical Center

    Pros

My manager is very good at allowing me to have a very flexible work schedule.

    Cons

The pay is very poor for administrative positions. There is a high attrition rate for non-clinical employees. The organization has lost very good employees. Also, the highest rate increase you can achieve at Martin is 3% --- THAT'S IT. You get 3% if you go above and beyond and 3% if you just meet expectations. I really don't think Senior Management gets that same increase.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The pay is so poor for administrative/secretarial positions. To add to that, with the cost of living the highest it has been in over 30 years, Senior Management should have a pay increase of $2.00 - $3.00 per hour, for the non-clinical employees - ACROSS THE BOARD. The secretarial hourly rate is really VERY POOR. The same position or similar position south of Martin County is $2-$3 dollars higher, per hour.

I have been working at Martin Memorial Medical Center

    Pros

The staff that I work with are very supportive of each other and care deeply for their patients. The ability to do self scheduling is a great asset.

    Cons

The pay, the downgrading of supplies used, being understaffed especially night shift, the placing of patients in the wrong units just to fill a bed, the medical insurance which has been downgraded

I have been working at Martin Memorial Medical Center

    Pros

I have great co-workers, the medical benefits are good - as they should be considering it is a health system!

    Cons

We do not get enough vacation time! Holidays, sick and vacation time are all in one bank and new employees do not have vacation time until after 6 months, which means if a holiday falls within their first 6 months, they have to take the day off without pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix the vacation time bank issue! It isn't fair nor is it industry standard. Managers do not have the same vacation bank structure and it should be the same for all and based upon years of service.
