    Auto Manufacturing Knowledge Bank

Deputy Manager (Current Employee) Gurgaon, Haryana (India)

ProsBrand Name, Great leaders at the top, growth is not at ease, No perks - compensation comparatively satisfactory.

ConsSince it is a big group so training content also generalized, in case any special training required then have to wait pretty long.
    No time off policies
Since 6 days working so little bit hard in keeping work-life balance.

Advice to Senior ManagementDistribution of work is not equal among all the departments. Flexibility need to improve. New technology need to adopt for the benefit and growth of individual as well as the organization.

    Mixed

Manager (Current Employee) Gurgaon, Haryana (India)

ProsLeader in Automobile Industry, Strong brands, Robust Systems, Innovation in Cost Cutting- Either in process or HR systems.Lots to learn at least for first 4-5 years of one's career

Cons7 days week, leave only on paper, profile is like a policeman- you can be called anytime, while your kid's birthday celebration, immediately after your " Suhaag Raat" etc if material is running short, or there is a line problem; which is everytime. High Politics and except few good top leaders, filled with idiots in middle management level (esp. DPM level). Poor HR practices, even Manesar has resulted in no change on ground. Company still functions like 1983..

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease move ahead from 1973. This is the 21st century..

Grass is greener on the other side

Assistant Manager (Current Employee) Gurgaon, Haryana (India)

    ProsBrand Name and nothing else

    ConsWork culture
    HR policy
    Learning environment
    Support from seniors
Ethics of the company as a whole

Advice to Senior ManagementAll the company and upper management cares about is cost and they will squeeze it out of you without paying for it.
Not much ethics with the company. I gave them my resignation letter in May and they refused to pay me appraisal from April, when appraisal for others was declared in June.
HR policies are very bad and we saw an incident of that

    Overall Satisfactory

Assistant Manager (Current Employee) Gurgaon, Haryana (India)

ProsYou get to learn a lot in terms of New Product development. Work in recent years have improved. Design projects have started to pour to us which were earlier restricted to Japanese.

ConsTypical political environment. But there are managers which appreciate your work and efforts.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou get to realise the true value of your hard working employees.
Please learn to take decisions on your own rather that leaving on Japanese Counterparts for everything.

    Great exposure

Deputy Manager (Former Employee) Gurgaon, Haryana (India)

ProsI joined as GET in 2008. As they say the perks of being of being a GET at Maruti are many. Some being:
    - 3-4 months of rotational training
    - Hands on experience of working in various divisions on small duration projects as the part of the training
    - Seniors and colleagues are from the best colleges and have great knowledge
    - Not to forget salary is best in industry and 10-15% hike is ensured
    - Opportunity to go to Japan (specially if you are in R&D)

Cons- The culture is a bit sarkari (but you realise that it is far better than other Indian companies)
    - Feeling of getting lost in the crowd may seep in a few years
    - 6 days working

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
