Pros
Sharp technical teams. Powerful IP portfolio. Great culture, benefits, campus. Terrific opportunities to work with world class teams in China, India, Israel, etc - a truly global corporation.
Cons
Need higher pay (base, bonus, options) to be competitive. This is the key drawback that senior management needs to solve immediately.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay for excellence - for new hires and current employees. You will get the difference in productivity that far outweighs the pay increase.
Pros
Excellent Engineering talent & work culture
Cons
Recognition very less for hard workers
Advice to Senior Management
Management should have a symbiotic relationship with the engineering talent
Pros
Good for new comers and freshers.
Cons
Bad for experienced professionals. They don't have any hierarchy
Pros
Beautiful fish tank and fair cafeteria.
Cons
Nobody treats the schedule serious.
Advice to Senior Management
Be honest to your employees.
Pros
A good place to gain experience.
Cons
Compensation does not worse the frequent overtime introduced by unreasonable schedule.
Advice to Senior Management
Some higher management can show more sincere respect to engineers.
Bonus should not have upper limit.
Pros
Ability to work on several projects. Ability to work with great talent - the strength of the company is in the people working there.
Cons
Lack of mgt (director-VP-C-level) direction, lack of mgt support, lack of opportunities for growth. Sink or swim envornment, not very collaborative.
Advice to Senior Management
People are not commodities. Creating opportunities for employees to learn and grow will lead to lower attrition. Mgt (director-VP and C-level) could consider mentoring their teams.
Pros
Can learn at a faster pace
Cons
Will get tired of repetitive work
Advice to Senior Management
Should not interfere with the day to day activities
Pros
Marvell has a strong engineering team. The technology is always leading edge. Inside your position, you can usually freely rotate to different role if you demonstrate the ability to handle it.
Cons
Too many projects going nowhere. There is no real marketing people out there, and there is no focus. The philosophy is to always to delivered a product that is much smaller, more power efficient AND with the best performance AND with ALL the features. Also too less attention is put on the verification side.
Advice to Senior Management
Recruit top talents for marketing positions, not puppets that can only obey orders.
Pros
helpful senior team and easy towards newcomers
Cons
Management too much involved in day to day activities.
Advice to Senior Management
Good company to start off with.
Pros
You are able to get access to the latest wireless technology by being involved in every single system-on-chip (SOC) design.
Cons
Promotion seems not easy if you are currently holding a title of "staff", there is a long way to go from manager to director.
Advice to Senior Management
It would be much better if each individual's title is wide open in system, since this is one signature of a fair system.
