    Worked as Contractor....that's the downside....

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsOur business unit was a casual atmosphere, filled with mostly friendly, brilliant engineers, committed to propelling Marvell forward. The people are great to work with.

ConsNot a lot of dedicated, formal training provided (professional growth classes not available to contractors)...not sure if managers know the total picture of what it takes to administrate a unit's initiatives. Contractors should be evaluated after 6 months and made permanent, or let go..don't hire them as "temp to hire" --that is misleading.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus was on hiring new engineers as opposed to looking at current contractors and converting them to employees....even after years of excellent performance reviews and commitment to Marvell. Seems like
a lot of politics, whining and squeaky wheels get what they want.

Good potential that is being killed by poor management

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    ProsGreat history... Some tech breakthroughs...

ConsLack of attempt to build a healthy org structure and poor management makes a lot of good people to run away. These people are not being replaced... Which eventually will bring the company down, in my opinion

Advice to Senior ManagementBuild a healthy org fundamentals and keep good people or find equal replacements

    Very hard work

ASIC Design Engineer (Current Employee) Santa Clara, CA

ProsCompetitive salary and benefits are not bad, although they could be improved. Every designer had good chances to learn and to deploy new design techniques.
    Training are offered regularly.

ConsTime for completing a design is becoming shorter and shorter and sometime to get these targets the work is becoming very hard. Quality of results are lower than expected.
    Few career advancement opportunities.
