    Pros

    Great history... Some tech breakthroughs...

    Cons

Lack of attempt to build a healthy org structure and poor management makes a lot of good people to run away. These people are not being replaced... Which eventually will bring the company down, in my opinion

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Build a healthy org fundamentals and keep good people or find equal replacements

    Doesn't Recommend

Current Employee - Principal Engineer in Austin, TX

    Pros

Very shallow organization. Only 4 levels of hierarchy between engineer and CEO. Entire management chain is highly technical and hands on in most groups.
For someone with enthusiasm and motivation there are endless opportunities and possibilities. There is some politics but very minimal.

    Cons

Lack of long term product roadmap at the executive level. This results in unnecessary thrashing and schedule pressure at the engineering level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Marvell is no longer a startup but transitioning into a mature company. Internal processes and execution have to be adjusted to allow that growth or the company will bootstrap itself from expanding to the next level.

Current Employee - ASIC Design Engineer in Santa Clara, CA

    Pros

Competitive salary and benefits are not bad, although they could be improved. Every designer had good chances to learn and to deploy new design techniques.
    Training are offered regularly.

    Cons

Time for completing a design is becoming shorter and shorter and sometime to get these targets the work is becoming very hard. Quality of results are lower than expected.
    Few career advancement opportunities.

Share your view to get better market share.

  7.

    A company of engineers

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Lots of good engineers with technical expertise. Benefits are pretty generous by today's standards.

    Cons

Executive management extremely paranoid of delegating responsibility. Marketing had little to no presence at guiding company into new markets. Politics trumps engineering judgement often times for key decision-makers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stand up to unreasonable and/or impossible requests from your superiors. Top level executives are surrounded by 'yes men' who simply pass the buck to engineers. Managers should listen to their engineers and go to battle for them against their superiors.

    Pros

Flexible hours, friendly and cooperative culture, on-site gym, access to almost any type of advance industrial tools.
