Current Employee - Senior Engineering Manager in Santa Clara, CA

    Pros

    - Interesting technology. Teams are nimble out of necessity. Need to manage more things which is good but eventually gets out of hand.

    Cons

    - Micromanaged to a high degree to the detriment of the company
    - Market share and stock price clearly indicate what management refuses to acknowledge. - - Other than leadership in storage, no significant inroads in other segments
    - Very few chances for career growth
    - Management generally paranoid about technology being stolen
    - Not professionaly managed

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Be humble. If you were as smart as you think, you would be market leaders. That is not the case.
    - Stop being opaque
    - Trust your people
    - Offer better benefits
    - Stop the family culture. Get professional managers who can be held accountable.
