Pros

Freedom to work how much & how often you wanna work, you write your own paycheck... The money is available to you at your willingness & the recognition given is more then I ever imagined it to be. My self image has changed so much over the past 7 years in such a positive way. Getting the product at cost, driving a free car (that would be 4 cars for me in 7 years) and all the tax breaks are just minor perks of the business. My favorite part of this opportunity are the relationships I have created & the friends I have made!!!

Cons

The monthly minimums required even when your health is bad or other such occurances

My Senior & National are simply the best. As far as corporate management, well it is still a corporation.

Pros

I love Mary Kay because I can work when I want to work, or when I need extra money, then when times where I cant work as much roll around, I still get paid from the work I did in the previous months. I also love the way you can promote yourself. If I want to move up in the company I can, I don't have to wait for someone to tel l me I am good enough. I love the products and you don't have to be a salesperson to sell Mary Kay, the products sell them selves. Its a great Company.

Cons

If you want to get rich quick or do nothing to make money, this is not for you. You need to work to make money, but its a simple concept.

The sky is the limit in what you can make in Mary Kay. You can move at your own pace. There are no quotas. or territories I love the flexibility, and love being my own boss. Earning a new career car. The Job security of owning your own business. Making new friends. Learning skin care & glamour techniques. Company philosophies-God 1st, Family 2nd, & Career 3rd. Tax advantages/savings. Prizes & Recognition, Products at wholesale cost. Develop greater self confidence. Opportunity to Travel. WE write our own paychecks, and we decide whehn we want to climb to corporate ladder.

Cons

It is really hard to list a lot of downsides. I see only that it would be hard to be successful if you were not discipline , and had good work ethnics. The company is so fair, and they provide every opportunity to educate you and train you. You must apply yourself.

It is very important that you work your own personal business. It is important that you hold your Training & success meetings every week. You should attend all the company's seminars , and conferences. As you work your business and train others that your follow the guide lines of the Company and work with intergity, and follow the golden rule of treating others as your would like to be treated.

Mary Kay is a great company to work for because you are working for yourself. You are your own boss; an independent business owner without all of the overhead. It is a business that you can work a lot for large pay off or a little for some extra cash on the side. The mentors above you are vested in you and have walked in your footsteps to get where they are; they are helpful and knowledgable. Be sure to choose your Mary Kay Business Partner (recruiter) well so that you can be involved with a unit that is growing, provides education for you - or will find a local director to adopt you for training, and that is positive. Mary Kay's mission is to Enrich Women's Lives....and it does!

You need to be motivated to work for yourself. What are your dreams? Where do you want to be in 5 years? If you worked your hardest at your current job, could you significantly change your financial situation? The sky is the limit with Mary Kay; the biggest paycheck is yet to be paid....career cars are waiting to be awarded...but you have to be willing to put in the work and be coachable and teachable to get to the top!

My Senior Sales Director is fabulous! She has helped guide me on my path with out being pushy but yet always ready to take me to the next level!

I love working for Mary Kay. I set my own hours, goals and the potential is AWESOME! I win prizes every quarter and make money at the same time. If I need some extra cash I just make a few phone calls and VIOLA! The opportunity to help other ladies is fun and I meet new people all the time. The best part is I AM THE BOSS. I decide how I want to work and when.

There really is no downside. It is what you make it.

Pros

I get to be my own boss and I truly get to prioritize my faith, family, and career all in that order so that I can balance my life and be successful at the same time. This company has the highest commission than any other direct sales company in the US. I think the best part is that anyone can work this business whether you have 2 hours or 40 hours a week to put into to it. The company is designed for anyone that desires something more in their life.
This is a Recession Proof company where layoffs don't exist!

Cons

Being your own boss can get tricky. You are the CEO, the Marketing Director,and of course the Consultant!
No Motivation= Frustration!

Your in business for yourself but not buy yourself, There is no glass Ceiling, The harder you work the more you can make

We have the best training out there, but it is up to you to read study and go to the trainings the Directors set up

and also corporate set up 2 big trainings a year, a not to miss

you have to be a a big girl and show up and you will not be dissipointed with the training or managment

I appreciate that I can work at my own pace. If I want to advance in my position, or even change my position, I am free to do so. The network of sharp and intelligent women inspire me as I work to reach my own goals. I have so many people to encourage and even help me attain those goals as well. The product is awesome and very comparable to other products in the beauty category. We, as consultants, receive continuous training and education whenever we want it.

Cons

The only downside for me is that when I don't work...I don't get paid. Go figure!

Continue the good work! You all have such a major influence on the lives of the women you come in contact with and also the consultants you add to your units. Your hard work may seem to go unnoticed, but we see what you are doing and sacrificing!

Mary Kay Cosmetics exists to assist in any life needs that you may have. If you want more time to spend with family, that's what it allows. If you want to increase your income, you choose how much you want, and put the appropriate time into achieving that goal. If you a woman looking for a sense of accomplishment in your life, you have the ability to choose how far up on the career ladder you want to go. And, this all includes wonderful prizes, encouragement, training, and meeting amazing people all along the way.

Cons

You may hear a lot of rejection in your business. Many people are not too fond of the idea of being "sold" on either the products, or career opportunity. But, you can't take it personally, as it's not the consultant they're rejecting, but the quality products or incredible career they're missing out on.

Just make sure consultants know from the beginning that this is not a "get-rich-quick" scheme, but it's an actual career that, like any other, needs to be taken seriously in order to succeed.
