    Pros

There are really no Pros to this unless you are in dire need of a job.

    Cons

You are expected to fill several rolls at one time with no respect or recognition for all hours you are expected to work. Always trying to promise to get more employees to help with the work load and as a manager always trying to complete missions without support until to late and customer pissed off. Safety of personnel is always overlooked and when brought to the attention of higher ups you are labeled as a trouble maker. When you are brought on you are given training to a degree but are expected to ignore safety issues if it will delay what is need to get accomplished. Separation of HQ functions always caused issues in that new procedures were handed down in a timely manner and caused wright ups to personal that were not fair. More like Obama Care you had to sign before everything explained to you and that way you could not refuse to accept. Anytime an HR person came to see you it not just an HR person it was actually a company Lawyer. For health Benefits you are presented with one set but when enabled total different policy.

    Advice to Management

I would advise them to get outside source to look at nepotism that goes on also with the Safety issues that keep getting ignored and lack of wanting to correct the Safety issues. Emergency reporting is a issue in that always assumed that it is employee error and not the fact that personnel are forced to do work without proper equipment. Because it is too expensive to get. Stop changing your heath Policies in different quarters of the year and have your Employees start having to pay full deductions in mid year and 3rd quarter of the year. Just makes Personnel resentful. Stop trying to make up Part numbers is one of your biggest failures in trying to get Jobs done in a timely Manner to justifying someone's position and use the UPC numbers already assigned to a product it will save you money and time in in always having someone research same item from multiple Vendors and not have the warehouses over load on same item because you did not get it from the same source which you assigned a new number. Same goes for different company branches assigned different part numbers for same items stocked in shelves and having costumer wait 3 weeks when different branch had in excess of stock for long period of time. The wastefulness is mind boggling and yet raise and compensation so mucked up!! The people you should keep you Fire and the ones that should have been long gone are just Promoted to get out of the way and causing greater issues because they are related to someone in the company. When Managers are told to do whatever they have to do so the higher ups can get their Bonus is a CROCK. I can go on but it would still fall on Deaf ears.

The worst company I've ever worked for!

I have been working at MasTec Network Solutions

    Pros

I wasn't an employee very long but I couldn't find one pro! Not one!

    Cons

Getting to and from work was a challenge because I was supposed to be issued a van...which never happened. Managment didn't listen to any concerns and training was very very poor.

    Advice to Management

Find component trainers and managers. Listen to both sides of the story...

    Pros

    Hard to find this year

    Cons

-Upper Management has one client that they are unwilling to hold with the line when it comes to the SLA. This 'Get it done' attitude routinely puts employees in untenitable situations of either fullfilling the client wishes as directed by upper managment or protecting the financial interests of MasTec financially. The result has been keeping the client happy, bust the budget, and each month firing a few more employees to balance the books. -The culture is toxic. CYA is the name of the game. You'll costantly need proof that you're not at fault - and exactly what you said with what tone. Everything ends up in an email with 30 people on the 'cc' line as a result.

    Advice to Management

-If you don't intentionally create a corporate culture it creates itself. Shark tanks are a lot of wasted energy and talent. Turnover is high. Brain drain is constant as those who care enough to fight either are targeted for the next round of layoffs because they're drawing attention to their market by being a dissenting option or because a spin doctor of a director is tired of being asked why he/she isn’t telling the true to people in positions of power. -Cronyism isn’t good for business. Get the opinions on the ground because your area and district managers have too much invested to tell you the truth. Only the ‘Yes men’ have survived the last 5 years and they are mirroring back to you what you’ve said you want to hear.

    Pros

-Pay was OK. -Worked with some nice people.

    Cons

-Office was a certified dump with overflowing plumbing, sewer flies everywhere, strange-tasting water, etc. -Corporate support was non-existent. -Market wanted all of the work but never wanted to staff accordingly. -General manager based performance reviews on the opinion of one of his trusted employees he brought from previous job. -Not allowed to participate in interviews for support staff, which led to poor hiring decisions.

    Advice to Management

Clean house - literally. Start from scratch, interview people BEFORE new projects are on the books and already started.
