    Pros

I don't really have too much in my pro list. just going to keep tying to hit the twenty word minimum that this website requires.

    Cons

Over worked, under paid, terrible training, and honestly not the best work encviroment. Mentors are less than helpful.

    Advice to Management

too much overtime. your burning out your employees.

I have been working at MassMutual full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great training. Products are unrivaled in the insurance industry. This company invests a lot of money in providing the field force with technology to streamline the planning process from start to finish.

    Cons

Commission only. Which is difficult when just starting out of college with a small natural market. Daily activity is key.

    Advice to Management

Focus on training new agents how to block and tackle to be able to build a financial services practice. Weed out older agents who don't want to grow new talent, and just want to take advantage of newer agents.

I have been working at MassMutual full-time

    Pros

I have been in financial services for 8 years. This is the third company I've come to. My overall experience here has been phenomenal. I think this is an industry where it is either for you or it's not. If you know this is the industry for you than this may be a great play to hang your hat. PROS: 3 year vesting, great bonus structure, high renewal rates, product flexibility, non-captive, happy and positive environment, Most of all...they do what right for the client 100% of the time. I can get behind that.

    Cons

There is very little support for prospecting for new agent who don't have a market, but the tough ones make it through. They need better lead systems to get people up and running. Very independent, so if you don't naturally take a ton of initiative it will be tough for you to thrive.

    Advice to Management

Do more on the costs to help out new agent. Set the bar higher and fire these people no making any money!

I have been working at MassMutual full-time

    Pros

Solid Company Clear communication on pay

    Cons

High E&O premiums with no choice of coverage company Technology like most insurance companies

    Advice to Management

Fix the technology for the advisers to be more user friendly. The producer site is impossible to find anything you need, especially in an emergency. Bouncing around different pages to find what you need is aggravating.

I have been working at MassMutual full-time

    Pros

Good benefits even with recent changes, flexible work arrangements, long-term view versus quarterly pressures, forward thinking, expanding digital capabilities and functionality

    Cons

limited opportunity for advancement in management ranks, flat organization, taking lean management to the extreme at times. Middle management feel stifling at times.

I have been working at MassMutual full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of extra perks - in-house Starbucks, gift shop, dry cleaners, barber shop, salon, tech bar. Full cafeteria offers price breaks every M.W,F

    Cons

Multiple systems slow things down and the systems are antiquated; Operations are VERY process-driven which tends to bog things down instead of moving things forward.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your front line and fully utilize what talents new team members bring to the table. Not leveraging someone's experience in a role that they have performed for another employer for 10+ years because they have not been in place for at least a year is just shooting yourself in the foot.
