I worked at Matheson Tri-Gas full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits. Every tool you need. Company will spend money if needed. Great people. Travel if wanted. Opportunity to advance.

    Cons

Married to your facility, Lots of work placed on you, Expected cost savings annually, Upper management expects a lot of you on a weekly basis,

    Advice to Management

Take care of the people that make you look good and take care of you. You can only cut so much fat until you get into the meat and eventually bone.

I have been working at Matheson Tri-Gas full-time

    Pros

Decent pay, good insurance and benefits.but that's about the extent of the pros.

    Cons

It's their ballgame and they lI've to change any an all the rules at any given time to make sure they get what they want. There is no accoutablility for upper management to abide by any standards or guidelines. Wouldn't be such a bad place to work if the people in the upper positions valued their employees and actually showed that value to then in some form every now and then.

    Advice to Management

If you appreciate any of your employees I suggest you start acting like it and show them that. Otherwise your going to be replacing then with someone new who doesn't have a clue what's going on. It wouldn't take much to let your employees realize you care.

    Pros

Good people to work with. Not bad pay. Good benefits. A lot ok knowledgeable people that have been there a very long time.

    Cons

Upper management has no clue and a theif. No raises. If you do good keep doing good. If you mess up then you get rewarded.

    Advice to Management

    Notice the employees that exceeding

    Pros

Great co workers, decent benefits. Matheson is a growing company. The benefits package is a decent one, provided it doesn't get cut down anymore. The schedule does provide a good work/life balance.

    Cons

Health insurance is getting worse each year, average compensation is not exactly up to industry standards for hourly employees. At my site if you're not in the clique you won't advance, your annual cost of living raise is tied to performance evaluations so if your boss doesn't like you, you won't get one.

    Advice to Management

Figure out why management at your biggest site has gone to pot. Talk to the actual people doing the work.

I worked at Matheson Tri-Gas full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, decent pay, overtime pay available, publicly traded strong portfolio company, aggressive sales force Monday through Friday paid holidays

    Cons

Rarely promote within. Have people in charge that have a lack of respect and care for employees below them. Management in charge of employees that have no clue of the employees work load or experience. Ticket operating system is a joke. Lack of training for a lot of positions. You are asked all the time to speak up if you see ways the company can improve quality and safety and when you do your shot down like your a coward. High high turnover rate attrition rate for front line employees.

    Advice to Management

Stop favoring kiss asses. Stop looking down on employees who just might have more experience then you. Stop rewarding the bottom dollar over safety. The company would never admit that but it's so true it's a joke so they overkill the safety meetings, conference calls, etc to hide the fact.
