Poor management and terrible customer service

    Anonymous (Current Employee)

ProsI can't think of a single positive thing to say about this company.

ConsThey do not communicate well. Once they contact you for your résumé, you never hear from them again. They don't return phone calls or emails, and leave job searchers wondering whst happened to the employment opportunities they discussed with candidates. Very unprofessional in the way they treat job seekers.

Advice to Senior ManagementDecide what type of company image you want in the market and train your employees to treat people with professional courtesy.

Well run operation that attracts good people

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsI have had multiple consulting assignments over the years from them, working both individually and in teams. Every project I've done with them involved good competent people who knew how to build quality systems. They treat their consultants well and they manage to pull in some pretty cool jobs.

    ConsOnly good experiences so far.

    A Top Shelf Consultancy

    Lead Business Analyst (Former Employee)

ProsI worked with Matlen Silver for 8 years and was very happy during my time there. While with Matlen I worked on projects for 5 major financial firms and a couple of smaller clients. The work was always exciting and focused more on the client's core business then on basic technology requirements gathering and documentation.

I was promoted 2 times and always felt like my work was appreciated.

I eventually left to I could relo my family to Texas, but would recommend them very highly.

Consoften had to work long hours to wrap up major projects, but that's always true in the consulting biz.

    General Idea

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsPaycheck arrives on-time. Availability of jobs for first-time hires. Good medical benefits coverage with low deductibles but high price for admission. Flexibility of the Matlen Silver company to fulfill customer requirements and maintain contracts with big clients.

ConsAppears to be a general dissatisfaction amongst contractors other than a paying job? Little to no affinity or relationship amongst other Matlen Silver contractors. Rare meetings with account manager. Don't except relationships to be facilitated or to be introduced to other fellow co-workers/contractors on the client site. Matlen Silver offers little to no company communication to contractors other than timekeeping notices.
