I have been working at Matrix Medical full-time for less than a year
Pros – The company values nurse practitioners!!
Cons – The insurance is a bit expensive, but I was told that will improve as the company grows.

I have been working at Matrix Medical full-time for less than a year
Pros – Relative job security if you reach the minimum requirements, the job itself is very easy to learn and has few responsibilities besides the core function of contacting health plan members, there are no sales, and no hard-sell tactics required
Cons – Matrix micro-manages employees to a degree I've not seen at any other company (even regulating bathroom breaks), and does not at all care what employees think; feedback or suggestions on how to improve results are not at all welcome, and viewed with suspicion by managers, each of whom are intent on protecting their own turf. There are occasional bonuses for top employees, but generally no enthusiasm or gratitude toward employees. Despite what applicants are told, Matrix demands that employees recite the script exactly as written no matter whether it works or not, and is not willing to entertain ideas on improving workflow. Career advancement is practically non-existent and based on favoritism.
Advice to Senior Management – Unless you begin to show appreciation and tolerance toward employees, you will lose your best people, and be left with human automatons who robotically recite the same thing endlessly, a recipe for failure. This is not how a successful company treats its most valuable asset.

Pros – Decent pay (received a raise very quickly), typical office hours, opportunity for overtime if you want it, workload keeps you busy and is very easy
Cons – Upper-management is very egotistical, unprofessional, and do not care about their employees. They display favoritism toward certain employees, usually the ones who shouldn't be there in the first place.
Advice to Senior Management – Actually listen to your employees instead of assuming the worst of them. Stop showing favoritism toward poor employees that you should have gotten rid of to begin with. Treat employees with respect and maybe you will earn their respect.

I worked at Matrix Medical
Pros – In this economy, it's a job for a paycheck while you look for another job. That is a sad commentary but it's the truth.
Cons – Dishonesty, firing people with little, if any reason, expensive but lousy health benefits, no work/life balance. Divisive managers with an agenda that doesn't benefit the team or company. Upper management with no health care background not clearly understanding issues and situations that require proactive thinking and actions. Unwillingness to support the staff and work through problems. Their turnover is unbelievably high.
Advice to Senior Management – Accept your limitations and listen to your staff especially the ones who have more experience in this industry than you do. Accept that you can lead but also learn from others. Leave your ego at home. Seriously consider an assessment of your entire HR team.

I worked at Matrix Medical
Pros – I was grateful to have a challenging opportunity not too far from my home with a growing company.
Cons – There were big changes from when I was originally hired, including massive turnover in upper level management. The new managers that were hired brought in their friends and former co-workers which cemented an "us and them" attitude. Despite raising concerns regarding this issue, nothing was ever properly resolved. Eventually almost all the employees that were hired by the previous management were unceremoniously let go. It was clear there was some other agenda being played out.
Advice to Senior Management – In order to earn respect, you must be respectful to others. In my mind, it is ridiculous to think that this can be dictated in the form of written policies. Ideally it can - and should - be demonstrated in the empathic and compassionate treatment of all individuals - no matter what their job assignment or level. The ongoing "excuse" that "it is just business" is just that - a weak excuse. I particularly find the blatant disregard of individuals reprehensible coming from the self-proclaimed Christians. You are not a Christian if you leave your conscience at the doorway when you enter work.
