Pros
Learn about technology and quality control
Cons
No advancement in position especially engineering.
Advice to Senior Management
Create opportunities for carrer development.
Pros
Salary is not bad, but not too good. Instead of that, lay-off is rare & you can expect very peaceful life in a long term with moderate salary. You can expect work with oversea, and have opportunity (a lot) go to overseas if you are capable.
Cons
Promotion is really slow and salary mainly depends on the age. Management is old style, thus you may face really non-compatible bosses oftenly.
Advice to Senior Management
More westernized management for better compatibility to oversea makers. Salary is too average especially for younger generation which makes young productive workers quite within 3-5 years.
Pros
- Global networking
- Travel intensive activities
- Multiple product lines
- Spans across multiple fields and sectors
- Bottom line: Lots of fun
Cons
- Large corporation with numerous rules
- Slow to react to fast pace environments
- Sub-par IT system leads to tedious repetitive work
Advice to Senior Management
High potential growth for company. Should exploit opportunities to execute global marketing campaigns and establish a new brand image worldwide.
Pros
generally can leave office by 6pm for most staff. Benefit package is above average even though pay package is not.
Cons
Little prospect of professional growth. Salary is average or below market average. A lot hinges on what the MD or top management thinks and decides.
Advice to Senior Management
To engage and be open to more feedback and suggestions from staff. There are more things to look at besides sales figures
Pros
Being a multinational Japanese Company.
Cons
One of the last remaining VERY traditional Japanese companies around.
Advice to Senior Management
There should be a shake-up of Mid-level managers. Offer early retirement of Older managers, who are inefficient and are no longer contributing to the company. Over-all efficiency of the company is very low and the value created per employee leaves a lot to be desired for.
Vision by top management is commendable but I doubt if all these good plans will come to any percievable and tangible result.
Not a recommendable place for a non-japanese to work in.
Pros
Stable company with decent benefits
Cons
No advancement, non-Japanese employees treated poorly.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat employees fairly.
Pros
employee discounts on cool products
Cons
It's a Japanese company. If you are not one of "them", then you are wasting your life.
Advice to Senior Management
Go back to Japan and put some (new) Americans at the top.
