Pros
Stable company. Good management that are supportive and want to see you be successful. Good 401K and health care as well.
Cons
It can be somewhat segmented between the different silos of business so it makes it difficult to go between them.
Pros
Benefits are better than average. The company has been around since the 1800's which is cool. There are a lot of long-time, very experienced employees.
Cons
Some of the management level staff act condescending towards employees; no real leadership at the top. Below average wages and compensation.
Advice to Senior Management
Demonstrate some real leadership; get a handle on quality issues; treat plant employees better; hire more Customer Service Representatives. Our customers are the most important assets, make sure they are happy and satisfied with our products and services.
Pros
If your new to the job force it's a good way to get a decent paycheck.
Cons
The management at Matthews International is horrible. It is a very unprofessional office where co-workers use profanity.
Pros
Great people to work with.
Cons
Like most companies have reduced head count to maintain profitability. What happens when business picks up? Long term costs?
Advice to Senior Management
Grow market share, head count reduction will only get you so far.
Pros
Nice Location, easy commute, alright salary.
Cons
Management dating co-workers creating bias. Whispering and gossiping everywhere. Cheap senior management and constant layoffs as easy solution.
Advice to Senior Management
Grow a pair
