    Pros

They work with students and are flexible with schedules. Great management and reply to emails almost right away. They answer any and all questions that I had and are great people who love what they do!

    Cons

No cons really except that they will do their best in getting you an interview to a client, but its up to you to do well at the interview.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe have the opportunity to switch to different clients if the role isn't what was expected so that there is the opportunity to learn new something different

    Pros

This is an amazing company that takes current college students and gives them jobs as real developers in industry. The CEO and all management are amazing people. They built this company to help students learn real world skills. The idea behind MSC is to place students into "internships" with local or remote companies. Then the overall idea is that the local business will hire the student once they graduate college. (It is not guaranteed, but that is the general hope if the business enjoyed working with the student.)

Great experience, high probability of a job upon graduation, great / caring management, fellow students work together in a group office space.

    Cons

Work is done remotely. The MSC office is a place for all the students to come together and work, but they are developing for off-site businesses. This means you must work through VPNs and communicate with your business's Team Lead through email, phone, and/or video conferences (like Skype…) Regardless, the MSC management is there if you have difficulties with communication or any problems at all. Medium-high pay. But there are few places that pay higher, and those opportunities are extremely competitive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the great work.

    Pros

Get to set your own hours, free coffee, 25 cent soda, relaxed work environment, hack sessions, great experience to help find a job after graduation

    Cons

Have to work 20 hours a week during the school year, which can make your schedule very busy with school. Also, not allowed to stream music using company internet.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep doing what you're doing!

Excellent Internship for CS Student; leading to full time job

    Pros

-Very good chance at full time offer at client after graduation
-20 hours a week, create your own schedule
-Free food, paid "company outings" to a movie, LAN parties, cheap pop
    -Very relaxed atmosphere
-Working with other students in the office, as well as professionals remotely with your client
-Real world software development experience. Not just coding, but entire software dev life cycle
-Management is very helpful and team leads are awesome
    -Easy interview process
    -Paid lunch and "hack" breaks
-Pay a little low for the field, but still very competitive given you get to work during the school year and not just over summer

    Cons

-Most teams are focused on testing and not development, so you don't code as much
-Teams are decided before you are hired. Some teams are more technical than others; if you're stuck on a manual testing team then that's what you do. Needs more development-centered roles
-Being a remote contractor, technical issues come up often and are usually not solved without constant notification to the manager
-Manager did not contact with a hire decision, I had to contact them to hear I got the job

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more responsive to employee tech issues. If a student's remote machine isn't connecting escalate the issue to priority one initially rather than waiting a day or two.

    Pros

Friendly casual atmosphere. You set your own schedule. Great opportunity for students to get industry experience which is both intrinsically valuable and helps build your resume.

    Cons

Not much opportunity to choose a project/team to work on/with or switch projects/teams. You're kind of put on a team and stay there unless the company your consulting for wants to move you somewhere else. Mostly consults for Thomson Reuters as of this review; I don't know of any other companies Maverick employees get to consult for, except maybe Symantec. They seem to be making steps to improve this, however.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Expand your client base so that students have opportunities to work at more companies. Provide more flexibility for student employees to choose and change teams.

    Pros

Incredible opportunity to work with full time professionals developing and testing software that used by Thomson Reuters' clients.
Ability to learn / become familiar with Microsoft Visual Studio C#
Very productive, inclusive environment; people are encouraged to be creative in order to find innovative solutions to complex problems.

    Cons

Not always able to get a hold of team leads in the timeliest manner in order to get passed roadblocks.
A lot of the job is learned on the fly, training modules are in place but could be more extensive / one on one with leads.
