    Pros

Worked there about 6 months. Store Manager was easy to work with and was very flexible with scheduling work hours.

    Cons

Typical big corporation. Too much training done on a computer, none of which really applied to my job function, waste of time. Granted training is just using common sense.

I worked at Maverik (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent Salary for the industry. Fairly good autonomy.

    Cons

VERY poor promotion ability. Once in a position you are pigeon holed in that position and upper management only sees you in that light. Often long, LONG hours.

    Advice to Management

Give directors the ability to make more front line, on the ground decisions that affect their respective stores. If the intention is to promote from within, allow directors/ employees that ability.

    Listen to employees

    Pros

Overall the environment was great. I loved the people I worked with and the customer base was great as well.

    Cons

Not a lot of room for advancement. Also varying schedules were difficult to plan life events around.

    Advice to Management

Challenge employees to be better. Don't be a dictator type personality to your employees. Have enough staff to cover different schedules.

I have been working at Maverik full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great work environment! The lower management team listens to you. (For the most part)

    Cons

Poor pay scale, seniority does not seem to come into play too much when it comes to promotions. Hiring from outside of the company.

    Advice to Management

Pay scale should be increased to compensate for today's economy. Consider not hiring from outside of the company as much.

I worked at Maverik full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Review for raises about every 3-6 months, set schedules, management is usually reasonable with time off requests, paid vacation/ paid sick time, 40 hours if you are a dedicated and reliable employee

    Cons

Open 365 days so it is usually MANDATORY that every employee works on holidays, unless there is enough volunteers!

    Advice to Management

Make sure SDs are working 50+ hours each week
