    Pros

    Team oriented
    Support from management & corporate
    Salary
    Room for advancement
    Loyal customer base (if at a nice location)

    Cons

    The only negative thing I can say about this company is their not well thought-out business move. I first worked at the Houston Galleria location, where business was great! Perfect team, very close nit group. Majority of times we made our store, and individual monthly goals. Nice customer base, who didn't mind spending $60 - $180 on a blouse. Then all of the sudden they decided to close that location, and open an outlet store out in Texas city, bear Galveston. I loved the company enough to relocate, which was only an extra 15min in my driving route. However,business went down tremendously. I was struggling to make my $9,000 sales goal there, where as at the Galleria location, I was selling an average of $18,000/monthly. The product we reviewed wasn't the same, and even when we did get the nicer garments, the customers weren't willing to spend that much there. Even with it being discounted.

    ** also, the salary structure changed when I got to Texas city. We didn't receive as much in commission as the normal retail stores. & you only make commission if you meet your monthly goal.

    ** over all, great company.

    Advice to Management

    Advice to corporate ** do research around the areas you are looking to open new stores before closing your bread winning stores. Don't close down the upscale locations that's in one of the countries largest shopping malls, do move to a small town outlet.

    Pros

    The pay was decent, the store was gorgeous and the clothing was beautiful. I worked with some very nice clients.

    Cons

    The management was completely disorganized and there was absolutely no privacy in the human resources department to disclose private matters.

    Advice to Management

    Train your managers better, make human resources a place where associates can go to discuss any issues and treat people better.

    Pros

    This company is very consistent operationally. Corporate is on top of all supplies ordered, merchandise sent weekly and visual merchandising done weekly.

    Cons

    They are so great at operations but don't know how to switch it up when something is not working. Want a weekly report every Monday of our business but cannot be completely honest. However when store is not doing well want to blame management and staff instead of giving solutions to issues.

    Advice to Management

    Stop dictating so much and notice the hard work employees put in.

    * Some of the co-workers are nice

    Cons

    * Gives false hope with growth, raise, and opportunities.
    * Stress you out
    * Unorganized
    * Too much duties and responsibilities for a small pay
    * Only care about sales, sales, sales. They do not care about you personally
    * They'll write you up, terminate you for petty reasons
    * Unethical and deceiving
    * They will blame you for everything. If the mall is slow period, they will say it's your fault why the company didn't make money that day.

    Advice to Management

    Be more ethical and train properly. Have a better system.

    Pros

    The clientale are generally very pleasant, and you'll have regulars who come in and ask for you.

    Long shifts--I'm taking an eight hour work day which is atypical in retail. It's nice to actually get hours like that versus four hours and then you go home. Also, and this may vary with location, but the staff is smaller so you'll have better hours 25+ a week.

    The clothing generally runs bigger which customers love.

    Easily the best Store Manager I've had was at this job (but I can't say the same about the keyholders).

    Fantastic store manager. She really was inspiring.

    Cons

    Mind-numbingly slow during the week, and even some weekends you'll be cleaning and straightening everything twenty times because there's nothing else to do.

    You have to wear all black--while it makes getting ready easier and quicker, it's not the best marketing ploy especially considering the numbers for the location I worked were dismal at times.

    While the hours were great, they weren't great for the work/life balance. If you have a day off scheduled it probably won't stay that way, and if someone is sick or can't work it screws up the schedule for the day and requires a lot of rearranging.

    The fact that there are sale's goals makes people get really territorial. I felt like I had to stalk my customers sometimes because keyholders were always hawking the situation.

    Calling VIP customers whenever there was any remote sale going on. It was overkill, and quite a few told us to stop calling so much.

    Advice to Management

    Get more selective with whom you promote. Keyholders were a nightmare--they either didn't care or they were micromanagers. Also, you can't demand people to respect you if you're acting like a dramatic child yourself half the time. They also waited for the store manager to do EVERYTHING instead of learning how to do it themselves. They really put a damper on the morale of the store with how dramatic and narcissistic they were.

    Also, if part-time associates are going to be worked like they're full time, perhaps a little more than $9.00 an hour.

    Having a great manager, and friendly environment; makes working here a nice a fun place. The clothes are unique, European style.
