I have been working at Maxim Staffing Solutions full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Flexibility in schedule. Variety of different nursing experiences offered.

    Cons

Pay is low for nurses. The recruiters, schedulers and account managers don't last long...too overworked and lots of pressure. No benefits and rare holiday pay which nobody seems to even know which days are paid.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be wise to expand into Private Duty nursing. There is a great need for it especially with Hospice patients.

I have been working at Maxim Staffing Solutions as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Great staff! I had an amazin schedule no weekends and no holidays. The company's very big on employee appreciation.

    Cons

Hiring process takes a long time about a month of constant paperwork. No shift differentials or stipends cut for living expences. I was offered both of these things with another company. The things you agree to during your hiring process may not occur once you begin working at your job site. The company has no real say so once your at your assignment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get everything in writing before signing your official offer of employment

I worked at Maxim Staffing Solutions full-time for more than a year

    Pros

From day one they sell you on the dream of an account manager, and moving up in the company. The actual recruiting part of the job is very educational and interesting because we are able to get to know these employees and gain the experience of being on the other side of the interview.

    Cons

I would have to say the biggest challenge of this job is the on call portion. We are required to work almost 50 hours/week with no lunch break, unless we want to leave to go get lunch. Either way, we eat at our desks and do not have a set time in the day for a break. (Is that legal?) Now back to the on call- After working 50 hours/week, we then are required to spend 2-4 nights on call (depending on the week and how many recruiters are in your office). So on top of the 50 hours we are already working, we are working another 30-78 hours on call that week and get no extra compensation for it. Pay is nothing to be excited about. The recently changed the position, so now any new recruiter does not get full commission for 6 months after they start working for Maxim. (I would hate to be them). Also, how could I forget about the external employees? There never fails to have something hit the fan every day at Maxim. Whether it's trying to convince/practically beg your employees to work or dealing with some equally unreliable facilities.
