Phenomenal product - immature company. Unless you are desperate for a job, don't work here.

    Pros

The product is great with very few competitors, so company will continue to thrive in spite itself.

Upper management knows what they are doing and are *driving the company in the right direction (see notes below)

Most people work exactly 40 hours, not more or less. No startup type hours.

it doesn't take much effort to do 'adequate' work which would be considered mediocre at any other company.

    Cons

When a majority of your sales and marketing team leaves it's a bad sign.

it is billed as a startup but operated as small business. No startup culture. Thinking outside of the box or brining fresh ideas is shunned unless your manager takes credit for the idea and pitches it themselves.

For most employees this is either their first job out of college or first job after a career field change, and it's pretty obvious. More experienced employees who are brought in are underutilized and not placed in positions where they have the authority or resources to do their job effectively.

Early hire employees are promoted to the highest level of their incompetence, which is managing other employees. While there are outliers, a majority of those who manage other employees fall into this category.

No transparency between upper management and employees, and why various business decisions are made leading to the aforementioned managers to turn lower-level employees against upper management.

No learning and growth opportunities. Most people are out for their own best interest so any efforts you take that may threaten them are quickly squashed.

    Advice to Management

You can't push a chain. You're steering the company in the right direction but no one is following you because you aren't actually in control of the company. Take control of the company and stop letting rogue employees make business decisions that are completely self serving, damage employee morale and muddy client relationships.

    Pros

    - Core product is actually the most powerful solution in the space, while maintaining usability. Not everyone gets to work on a product that is truly best in breed. You can stand behind what you sell, and the company wins most bake-offs and POC's against head to head competition.
    - Optimization is a growth industry as companies increasingly focus on digital conversions (rather than strictly focusing on acquisition) and the company is poised to benefit from that growth
    - Smart, resourceful co-workers that you'd actually want to grab a beer with after work
    - Very flat org structure. You can literally walk up to CEO or President at any point and they'll pay attention to your feedback
    - Hard work and results are valued, appreciated and rewarded. Not a politically driven org relative to most software companies I've worked for and/or been exposed to.
    - Work/life balance is good. No focus on "face time"
    - New NYC office is dope

    Cons

    - Need to do a better job of articulating differences to the marketplace and creating awareness. So many conversations and product demos end with the statement "I had no idea Maxymiser was able to do that"
    - Could use more workforce diversity (this is a tech-industry problem as well)
    - Product roadmap is very long-term focused (good) but sometimes simple usability tweaks that would benefit clients/employees in the near term are tabled

    Advice to Management

    - Vertical focused sales rather than geographic sales
    - Employees closest to the product and to clients have a good understanding of the company's pain points - I'd listen to them

-Work hard, play hard company culture.
    -Team oriented.
    -Very good compensation and benefits.
-Relatively flat job level hierarchy (ie only a few managers between the President and lowest level employees)
-President and CEO always willing to talk, whether it be about business or not

    Cons

Quickly outgrowing the office, which is exciting but also an annoyance.
Room for improvement in communication. (ie hirings/firings)

    Pros

Like most fast-growing startups, there's plenty of good and lots to improve on. Maxymiser offers great benefits (i.e. competitive salaries, flexible work hours, casual work environment, etc), an exciting product, and an impressive client list.

    Cons

There is a distinct difference in the men to women ratio. The absence of women in leadership positions, specifically in the US, leaves much to be desired in creating a more cohesive, inclusive culture.

    Advice to Management

Many of these issues could be alleviated by creating a more structured hiring process, having internal HR to look after culture, and a stronger effort around increasing women in tech, in general.

    Pros

NYC office is filled with many talented, young professionals. Work culture is among some of the highest I have ever seen/heard of. You will not find one person at the company that wouldn't help you out with a problem/issue you are dealing with.

    Cons

Company could benefit greatly by hiring a more diverse work force. Employee recognition sometimes appears to not be solely based on work performance.
