    Pros

Upper Management truly cares about the store managers and will bend over backwards to help you. Excellent HR representatives, sales targets are fair, pay structure is decent, upper management promotes a family atmosphere. Saturdays and Sundays off for managers. Decent work-life balance for a retail management position.

    Cons

Poor training for managers, too much nepotism, too much corruption that is swept under the rug, several of the people in middle management are more interested in making problems 'look' fixed rather than actually fixing them. Most customer escalations to upper management are ignored unless they have legal ramification, and everything else falls back on the blame of the store manager. Middle Management is quick to judge people. If you tell one person in middle management something about yourself, everyone in the company will know. You can have no privacy, and despite what they may preach to you there is a TON of micromanagement. Expect multiple calls from the back office on a daily basis over things that may or may not even be your fault at all.

    Advice to Management

Realize that not everyone thinks like you do. Understand that if you tell your managers that you aren't micromanaging them, then hold to that and don't try and correct and control every single decision that your managers make. Market your new stores better, and don't place the onus of marketing on the store itself. Don't hire people with questionable backgrounds. Make people take drug tests before they are hired. If someone was fired from another retailer for fraud, don't put them in any form of management. Make sure that proper management training happens when the manager is promoted or hired.

    Pros

Hours, knowledge, HR, training, work-family, learn the extent of ability to self motivate, solid time frame of work schedule

    Cons

Lack of responsibility, stress of making bare minimum to make enough to feed child, communication from DM, worrying other people will pay their bill, helpless to help customers.

    Advice to Management

Higher hourly, decrees minimum to recieve comission, or decrease "impact" of chargebacks, actual benefits, in example, paid time off, sick days, etc. weed out bad eggs, don't feel the need to keep due to fulfilling their position.

    Pros

Close to my home and nice people

    Cons

    Pay is terrible
They promise a minimum of 5% commission and actually pay you less than 2%
No one knows how to make a schedule
I'd find better work at a cow fertilizer plant with no gloves

    Advice to Management

Pay more than $8 per hour for the work you expect. The outcome will blow your mind. Remember that you get what you pay for

    Pros

It was a good company to work for overall the seems to really care about their employees well being. My manager was very good and he was helpful in training new employees.

    Cons

The pay at this company was to low not able to support my family but maybe for an entry level job out of high school and if you still have your parents support you may be able to make it.

    Advice to Management

Pay a little more and you will retain your top producers

    Pros

Consistent pay if you perform, HR is a pleasure to work with.
    Tons of performance based contests
    PTO
    Easy selling environment.

    Cons

    Management IS AWFUL!
Never have a clue what the back office wants compared to managements want/needs
My pay changed the month after I was hired, from salary to hourly.
Benefits changed dramatically and for the worst.

    Advice to Management

I left this company due to management playing Favorites, awarding unethical behavior, and giving promotions to incapable employees. Myself, and 2 other employees have left due to issues like this.

    Pros

My pay, expectations, and treatment were satisfactory. I had a good manager and good training. I was a Technician and was treated fairly by management and coworkers.

    Cons

There was an overwhelming focus on meeting short-term goals on a per-day basis. Store managers didn't have discretionary power over hiring and firing, which created a situation where my small store of 3 employees (the optimal amount for our foot traffic), suddenly had two extra employees, which killed our personal goals, affecting our commission, while the store's goals met the same standard as they had before. The manager had no control over this, as they were hired by the district manager.

    Advice to Management

Empower your managers. Nobody knows the storefront better than they do.

    Pros

Pretty good pay compared to other comp plans for cellular sales, Maycom is a growing company. They now have stores not only in Florida but North Carolina also.

    Cons

Can be very demanding at times, the company needs better managers. The company is growing in size but nothing else. It can be hard at times to get in contact with upper Management when its needed

    Advice to Management

Find a way to give more feed back to employees
