“Unfriendly, uninspiring, going nowhere.”
I worked at Mayford James full-time for less than a year
Pros – It's a job and if you want to work in recruitment it would give you basic experience. It relies heavily on a few clients so I suppose you learn a little about fund accountancy.
Cons – Long hours
Unstable they made 4 people redundant in the 6 months I was there.
Rely heavily on a few clients who simply aren't recruiting that much.
Senior management of parent company pretty unfriendly don't make an effort really. One director only had a proper conversation with me after being asked by my boss to take me for a drink.
Absolutely zero social side. Maybe one drink once a month.
Promises to train you to start your own desk which never materialises.
Work pretty dull. Mainly trawling job boards.
Very basic £22k starting salary.
Advice to Senior Management – Get to know people you hire. Sort out the cash flow shortage you clearly have.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
