Former Employee – worked at McAllen ISD
Pros – Working with kids; all the time off
Cons – Politics: it is all about who you know and who you are "friends" with. Be prepared not to advance in administration without joining the in crowd
Advice to Senior Management – Consider who deserves positions, not your friends

Former Employee – worked at McAllen ISD full-time for more than a year
Pros – Kids are great, but then again, kids are usually great everywhere.
Cons – HR plays games in posting jobs. Principals play games in the hiring process. I Pads for students is a joke. Teachers are not as a rule using them in the classroom at all, save for "free time" at the end of class.
Advice to Senior Management – Nothing - keep doing what you are, and the laws of supply and demand will eventually shape your future.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at McAllen ISD
Pros – The community is supportive of educators and although there are economic issues, the people can be convinced to make time sacrifices for their childrens' benefit.
Cons – Leadership just doesn't seem to get on the same page from central office. It is a true oligarchy and each piece depends upon the princedom you serve. In short the big wigs are jurisdictional and board members get worn out too quickly.
Advice to Senior Management – Try to wear the same color. Leadership divided has already been defeated in its mission. Hiring henchmen is brutality. Try a personality profile next time, too.
