Cons

Advice to Senior Management
Behavior to employee's has lead to an unhealthy, unhappy workplace. Employee's have questions to help with conditions they have endured.
Pros
Excellent compensation package
Good work/life balance
Cons
Horrible systems and processes
No vision
Full of silos and competing departments
Advice to Senior Management
McCain offers an excellent overall compensation package, but the company is absolutely crippled by a lack of vision and the resulting competition among departments/divisons/offices. Job satisfaction is extremely hard to come by. The company has horrible systems for a $6 billion operation. They are implementing SAP, which in theory would help, but will not with fundamental organizational problems that run so deep.
Pros
-Excellent pay and benefits
-Good communication from top leadership
-Excellent safety and corporate responsibility focus
Cons
-Horrible systems and processes
-Little to no focus on developing/promoting internal staff
-Very slow to make and implement change
Advice to Senior Management
1) You have talent internally. Take a chance, take advantage of it, and quit looking outside for everything.
2) Your computer systems are absolutely horrible. SAP should help; take it seriously and implement it to its fullest..
3) Keep at the "pros" listed above - by doing so you will continue to attract talent to the organization that hopefully you can utilize and develop so that it doesn't leave.
Pros
Good food company to work in
Cons
long way to the head office form anywhere
Advice to Senior Management
sound
Pros
- entrepreneurial atmosphere
- work life balance
- ownership over responsibilities
Cons
- lack of process in some areas
- poor systems
Advice to Senior Management
Challenge current business model, systems, and processes. McCain Foods has many great things going for it and a great place to work.
Pros
Ethical. Strong leadership. Many jobs start in rural locations but can blossom into international careers. A solid industry to work in during tough times.
Cons
Mostly rural locations. More of a mature industry which doesn't bring a lot of vibrancy to a career, but then again it brings stability.
Advice to Senior Management
Value creativity and drive over credentials. Keep up the strong focus on communications and transperancy. Further develop team based approach to work.
Pros
Good performance feedback mechanisms in place;
Excellent leadership;
Family run business run by down-to-earth people who enjoy good food / good life
Cons
Unclear succession planning causes good people to leave the company when they really don't want to. There is a tendancy to move too slowly in the implementation of change (too concerned about what the employees will think and do about it). Also, there tends to be too much tolerance for incompetent employees who really aren't pulling their weight.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep doing what you are doing!
Pros
Excellent benefits and pay
Great products
Global company with great jobs all over the world
Cons
Globalization has created outsourcing of all Finance to HP INDIA
This may improve over time but it is a con currently
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on the companies portfolio of products and differentiate them
Innovate the -product lineup-
Pros
Gain experience and feel rewarding on work. Co-workers are very nice and helpful. Also a very encouraging working place.
Cons
The location is kind of not convenient, it is difficult to access shopping and off work relax activities. If it is possible, they should create more convenience to the employee for the living
Advice to Senior Management
Hope they are doing better and better,
