I worked at McCarthy & Stone (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Product, design. concept, quality of build.

    Cons

Long term Staff and loyalty means nothing to pave the way for young dynamic types.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sadly the family feel is no more.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at McCarthy & Stone full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is really nice and friendly
One of very few employers in the area that pays what roles are worth

    Cons

    Too hierarchical
Suffers from 'not invented here' syndrome
Work happens at a very slow pace (this may be a pro for some, but for me it's dull)
    Very few opportunities to progress

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are some great people in the company but they are rarely listened to in any meaningful way - if you want to get the best out of people you need to let them feel like they're contributing to the success of the business

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
