    Pros

Flexible hours. They will work with you to find good hours. friendly and understanding coworkers and supervisors. They understand your needs and will come to a compromise with you.

    Cons

A lot of field work in the library. shelving heavy books and articles. can be physically demanding at times. There can be difficult costars that come in and you need to know how to handle them. You have to be patient.

    Advice to Management

To just be attentive to all the employees and people that walk in. Maybe spread out the amount of time spey on field work and desk work.

    Pros

Dedicated staff. Free parking. Good benefits.

    Cons

Lack of resources. Very low pay -well below market value for most positions. Lack of resources is a major problem, especially considering how much tuition this school charges. Some staff work well over the required number of hours for no extra pay. This is a big problem considering most are being paid less than they would get at other institutions.

    Advice to Management

    Increase the salary.

    Pros

Diverse opportunities for student employment, including tutoring, office assistant, student research, gym staff, athletic training, note-taking for students with disabilities, peer mentoring, and admissions. Lots of flexibility regarding how many hours a student is looking to work, though it is hard for students to find jobs on the very high end of number of weekly hours. It's easy to switch campus jobs from semester to semester and try different things. Some jobs relate to student majors and give real experience.

    Cons

Minimum wage (or just about) for most student jobs. Not much opportunity to get real job experience or to work your way up.

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent about the direction the school is actually going and recent progress, not just its goals.

    Pros

Being a part of something wonderful and working with phenomenal people to bring about possibilities. McDaniel challenges all stakeholders to embrace the opportunity to change themselves and the world around them--gathering knowledge and applying to every day.

    Cons

Working in any non-profit has it's limitations in resources. The funding at McDaniel causes employees to think outside the box seeking alternative solutions, continually doing more with less.

    Advice to Management

Be certain to look at the greatest resource surrounding us every day, those individuals who choose to be a part of something greater than them selves by working here. The smallest investment in our employees can result in exponential returns.
