    Pros

Work hard and get better elevated role and responsibility

    Cons

Working on other expenses, will get immediate termination... Working as Manager is not easy with McDermott as employees misuse the Ethical Values.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I found employees, especially in India, women misuse the Ethic Code of Conduct to give hard time to supervisors..

I worked at McDermott full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Most of young talents have worked here. Many of them has gone to Oil and Gas company and became key personnels - effectively creating connection between contractor and company.
One of the best bureaucracy of most EPC as well. Very well documented.
They offer one of the best retrenchment package I have seen from any industry.
Good place to work as well as learning how to manage projects effectively.

    Cons

Great at spotting talents but not good at retaining them.
Some senior personnels are just good at talking - this is common organization mistake.
Great salary package for fresh grads, but just average salary package for experience personnels.
Dual management (yard and projects) mean more conflicts and less unity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to manage the dual management things carefully.

I have been working at McDermott

    Pros

Management and peers, for the most part, are congenial and cooperative.
    Salaries seem competitive
Working atmosphere is casual yet professional
9/80 work schedule allowing for 3 day weekend every other week is great

    Cons

Communication between departments needs to be improved. Hard to do a job without necessary information or having to spend a lot of time trying to get information. This could be due to the nature of the projects being on tight schedule leaving little time to think about who will need the information downstream.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Certainly the EPCI schedule is a major consideration when bidding but more consideration needs to be given when developing a schedule such as increasing manpower to meet the requirements.

Please consider a 4/10 work week.

I have been working at McDermott

    Pros

JRM offers a great salary and are great people to work for and with for the most part (there's always one or two in every company who are hard to work with). For the most part, everyone works as a team no matter their position in the company or as a contractor. Employees and contract employees are treated with respect. It seems that, when hiring, how a person will fit in seems to be considered in addition to their qualifications to make sure everyone can work as a team. I think this is a great company to work for and plan to stay a very long time!

    Cons

Haven't found any yet after more than a year except that most positions are dependent upon projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work!
