I worked at McDonald's Canada part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

They gave me time off as much as I needed, give decent breaks, and most people you work with are friendly.

    Cons

It seems impossible to get full time, hard to advance, and closing shifts followed by morning shifts are really hard on the body.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Perhaps suggest to upper management to hire extras during busy season. It was strenuous when we were understaffed and the drive thru was lined up to the road.

    I worked at McDonald's Canada

    Pros

    Pro's:
    - Great job experience for future interviews/university or college applications
    - Extra cash
    - Other teens working there ... so you will meet a lot of people
    - Learn time management/responsibility...ect
    - Work schedules aren't that long
    - You can ask friends that work there to fill in for you
    - you can book off certain days for example... May 20'th is your cousins wedding you just go up to your manager at least 2 - 3 weeks prior and ask them to book that day off and you will not have to work that day for sure.
    - Great for recommendation letters
    - If work is getting in the way of school managers are pretty good at letting you have time off or cutting back your hours

    Cons

    Cons:
    - It's pretty gross at times
    - It's almost always busy
    - There is a lot of hot things so if you're not careful you can burn yourself. (minor burns..nothing too serious)

And yea that's about it...people mainly don't want to work at McDonalds because they think's it's the lowest of the low but you gotta start somewhere right?

I have been working at McDonald's Canada as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good culture that allows people flexible hours and the ability to work from home when required! Leadership encourages open communication channels and they actually listen to their employees.
