I have been working at McDonald's part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I make good money for low level job, free food on days that I work. Buy 1 meal get 1 meal free on days that I don't work. Gold Card benefits save me a lot of money. Flexible hours make balancing a High School life and work very easy

    Cons

Hard work, many managers need to have more passion for the job itself rather than just during peak periods or when they are being evaluated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to what is actually happening inside the restaurants rather than just the numbers, make sure that people managers are hiring the right people for the job and keep them happy. A happy management and crew makes for a good running restaurant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management did a great job but if I had to give advice, it would be to understand that many employees are teenagers and they need guidance.

I have been working at McDonald's part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Free or reduced price food
    Flexible work hours
Great job to connect with people

    Cons

I myself am a crew trainer and I strive to make sure all crew are efficient in their work stations. I have noticed that a lot of restaurant crew members in other restaurants are LACKING in training, or trainers.
They will work you like a dog if they see you excel.
Management is always a hit or miss. Some restaurants have a store manager that actually cares and their restaurants thrive. Other restaurants have store managers that don't care whatsoever and the restaurant is a dump and has an unpleasant atmosphere.
Swing managers are also hit and miss. Some care, and some do not. Their work ethic rubs off onto everyone else creating a big group of unhappy and rude employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Store managers should pay much more close attention to their shift managers. Bad managers equal bad crew. Also, consider promoting more crew to trainers rather than instantly to management.
