Working at McDonalds isn't as bad as everyone says.

    I worked at McDonald's part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

My work there was quick and not terrible. The conditions were workable and my coworkers were typically friendly. I liked getting discounts too!

    Cons

The pay wasn't as substantial as I would have wished though. Sometimes the lines would get really long due to disorganization and lack of communication.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Please be more organized.

    I worked at McDonald's part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

This place is excellent for a first time job because they help you get out of your turtle shell "if you are shy" they train you to take orders at drive-thru and at the same time make drinks, accept payments and help customers inside with their orders plus cook and pack up the food ( at the same time). You get to do multitask sometimes wish you were an octopus have 8 hands. I got to work in kitchen, drive thru, cashier, drink prep, opening and closing. I did everything and the wage was always the same for the 8 years that I put in. This is a great job because it teaches teenagers to hustle and work really hard this basically is the introductory to a career in hospitality but for someplace else.

    Cons

No Benefits. Managers snap their fingers at you they yell at you to hustle, no respect, favoritism like everywhere else, they expect you to be available 24/7 if you are 18 and older and never make you full-time manager assistant and manager position is a joke because it's only one dollar more than the rest of the crew. Most of the customers are homeless and managers sometimes ordered me to kick them out. The schedule is not flexible because often times they are dealing with short staff so you do get to feel like a slave. You get your breaks when you are finally off the clock.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dear managers thank you for such a personal growth I had when I was a teenager and your leadership. I really enjoyed my job I just wish you guys payed more but you guys are not even getting payed fairly to begin with so, I advice you to look elsewhere where they can treat you better and pay you what you deserve.

    I worked at McDonald's

    Pros

If you work smart and fast you can count on plenty of hours.

    Cons

Working with unreasonable and hungry McD's addicts (customers) can make or break your days.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just keep your workers happy through encouragement and let them know when they are doing well- they'll appreciate a "good job" more than you might think.

    I worked at McDonald's full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

My cow-workers were very fun to work with and I enjoyed coming to work. Even though it was fast food, it was a still good starter job.

    Cons

Not many cons. The managers were young and people would quit too many times so I had to work extra hours but needed the money.
