    I worked at McDonald's full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Manager and above positions receive stock options. Decent salary, good bonus program ... especially for top performers. Lots of personal growth opportunities ... company will help you formal and informal career development.

    Cons

    Poor management in some departments.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You're a hamburger company not a tech company. Focus on the food first.

You take employee surveys ... pay attention to the problematic VPs

I have been working at McDonald's full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Time off, ability to volunteer and develop professional educational growth

    Cons

The two organizational areas I worked in were absolutely a mess. The structures were all over the place, politics and the amount of nepotism in both areas were just down right insulting!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider retiring and promoting people with a voice and a backbone. Strong people who are working at this organization for the love of the organization and willingness to do things right and make things right is what would keep people wanting to work here. Don't overlook the people that keep the lights on and stop promoting and wasting tons of money on the friends we let into the organization that have no experience in the roles their in. Maybe now it's time to stop being such a "relationship" company.

I worked at McDonald's full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    - Lots of benefits including focused personal development
    - Plenty of employee affinity networks to build relationships
    - Great internship program
    - HR is top notch
    - Bonus program can be 15% of salary
    - Lots of free food

    Cons

    - Everything is priority number one
    - Unless you are a top performer, raises and bonuses are very much a popularity contest

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

An interesting balance between desire to be first to market and a desire to be perfect seems to exist in the eyes of management. These conflicting variables cause expectations that are sometimes unreasonable. An approach more iterative in nature are good for business and good for employees.

    Pros

Multicultural, Multiple projects ongoing would help get in touch with all IT ascpects

    Cons

I worked at McDonald's as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Good experience working with a team, learning the day to day needs of a huge corporation. Felt awesome knowing that my position was actually valuable to such a large corporation

    Cons

Terrible management, was expected to pull double duty and help out teams I was not affiliated with, had no knowledge or experience doing the work that they did. No benefits. EVERYONE seemed to buy into the corporate culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Eliminate the middleman and don't use staffing agencies to hire for full time positions.
