    Pros

    - Ability to move around and try new things - High Potential Talent stand out and are considered for development - IT and data resources are ahead of competitors - 401k plan and sabbatical program

    Cons

    - Salary & Health Care Benefits could be more competitive

The company helps maintain a good work life balance and is a company that everyone recognizes and that means something when applying for other jobs. They have a very good intern program with many events organized.

    Cons

Was not there enough time to assess cons.

    Advice to Management

Was not there long enough to suggest advice.

I have been working at McDonald's full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

McDonald's stresses a work life balance and has some pretty remarkable benefits offered to full time staff. Lots of areas are available to work in and international opportunities for those willing to relocate or travel a great deal.

    Cons

McDonald's has not fully adopted an alternative work approach. In person presence in an office is still highly valued. Virtual workers are not common and the support infrastructure for off site employees is still evolving.

    Advice to Management

Look for alternative ways to engage employees with alternative work environments. Foster virtual working to increase productivity and retention.

I have been working at McDonald's full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

McDonald's is a company full of hard-working, well-meaning people. In the global team you learn about how wildly different and highly complex a simple restaurant concept can become over time and across geography. So many challenges to address. So many ways to make a difference. The populist culture of acceptance and diversity is wonderful. People are open to new ideas, even if they don't know how to act on them. The corporate campus is beautiful and the office pleasant. The salary and benefits are competitive.

    Cons

Smart, ambitious people are only allowed to flourish in positions of power. And even then, they may be sent packing if they disagree with one of the "bold" strategies currently in favor. One of the reviews by a former employee at my level correctly states that smart, talented people are many at the company, but that relationships carry more weight. Worse yet, literal thinking and "copy the competition" strategy has suddenly become the order of the day among newly-hired and recently-promoted senior leaders.

    Advice to Management

Ignore the playbooks of the competition. McDonald's rocks as McDonald's. A little self-love will go a long way. Less IT, digital, and labor battling. More convenient quality food, well-paid folks, and family fun are what the world is counting on us for.

I have been working at McDonald's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people are amazing. Gorgeous Campus. Good pay & benefits (not sure what others are talking about!) Room for advancement. Summer hours!

    Cons

The company is going through a tough time, but you can't always be on top. I have faith in the turnaround plan.

I have been working at McDonald's as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Much more collaborative than I expected. No egos to be found and management is largely hands-off so there is plenty of autonomy.

    Cons

No Cons Really. The company as a whole is struggling to find an appealing image right now.

I worked at McDonald's as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Challenging and interesting work. Consultants are included as valued team members, and can have a significant influence on project direction and outcome.

    Cons

All consultants are seated together as one large group. You typically won't be seated next to your team members. The desks are small and some have no dividers - so you hear everyone's conversations. Ear plugs were my friend.

    Advice to Management

I know space is at a premium, please try and seat working groups together whenever possible. Also, please streamline the badge and computer access re-authorization process. The current process wastes considerable time, for both the consultant and hiring manager

I have been working at McDonald's (Less than a year)

    Pros

    making friends, it's a job

    Cons

the hours, the customers can be rude, the money it won't cover the bills that you have. customers hang around for hours, and not buying any food, they think it's a café.

    Advice to Management

it's ok to work there, but the staff need to do more to make it feel safe to work there.

I worked at McDonald's as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

They do a tremendous job of treating there interns well. I really enjoyed the work place environment. Every single employee was willing to lend a hand when you were unsure about what to do.

    Cons

I did not find that McD had many cons. they are a large organization which makes it hard to know exactly what people and or initiatives are in progress.

    Advice to Management

The only advice I would give to McD leadership, would be to continue moving forward and continue to believe in what you are doing. This is a great organization to be apart of.
