I worked at McDonald's part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Getting paid and having nice regular customers.

    Cons

It being a privately owned McDonalds so the management and everything was horrible, besides a couple of Supervisors that were really nice.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop selling your McDonalds privately because they're not keeping up to McDonald's standards and they treat their employees like crap.

    Pros

From working at McDonald's, you will gain independence, teamwork, productivity, and time management skills. There are timing constraints and strict productivity rules as well as hygiene constraints, but overall after a few days of adaptation, they just come in a work routine.

    Cons

The salary isn't high, compared to the effort put in. You work standing up and at a fast rate, which can be exhausting especially at peak hours.

I worked at McDonald's full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I loved working there because it helped get me away from being at home and I got a lot of hours. I was actually almost up for manager but then...

    Cons

He didn't like my wife, which he had no reason to, and decided that we moved too fast and told me to abandon her when she was having medical issues while she was pregnant as well... He told me to either choose being with my wife or my job. My son was born prematurely.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers need to keep business strictly professional.

    Pros

Fast paced and good training to get a new job

    Cons

The drama with management and constantly fighting to get hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

For the franchise owners, value the crew. We're the ones doing the work that your managers deem themselves too good to put up with.

    Pros

McDonald's had a convient location for me. Also, depending on which manager does the schedule, the store could potentially have flexible scheduling.

    Cons

The drive through was sometimes annoying to work at because the poor quality of the head sets combined with soft speaking people.

    I worked at McDonald's

    Pros

If you are willing to put the work in and do your part, there are many opportunities to move up in the company.

    Cons

I did run into some higher-ups who did not believe in respecting the people working for them, but you just have to stand your ground.

    Pros

Free food and good benefits. You can literally eat at McDonald's every single day. Pension scheme is not that promising though.

    Cons

Late working hours and bad management. More emphasis on customers than on workers themselves. Lack of leadership.
