I worked at McDonald's (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible schedule, close to home.

    Cons

Customers are very rude and ignorant. A lot of times its the customers themselves who make the "customer service" experience a drag. They walk in with attitudes and take it out on the workers. People who have been coming to McDonalds for years still acted like they didnt know what the hell they wanted to eat. Its unbelievable! They acted like it was their first time there. I worked all three shifts and the worst shift was overnight. The shenanigans were crazy (purposely crashing their cars into other customers, dancing on top of cars, throwing drinks at us, physically fighting, puking). When the weekends came around, there were a lot of drunk folks, as you could imagine, coming from the clubs. People were rude, impatient, and disgusting. Not to mention I received sexual comments and looks from guys (seriously, dudes will never fully understand what that feels like..and you wonder wjy women get angry and tell you to kick rocks). It was very uncomfortable. Honestly if I didnt care about losing a job I would have reached through the window and slapped the taste out of their mouths. Management was horrible as well. On almost a daily basis, money was missing from the both the cash register and the safe. Shift Leaders, the GM, and the Store Manager were the only folks with access to the safe. Not to mention there were cameras in there. Im still baffled as to how they were never able to catch whoever was doing it. Meanwhile other people were accused of stealing and as a result were fired. They were criminals who pretended like they werent doing anything wrong. They were very sneaky, deviant, and played favoritism. The corporate folks were bigger jerks but Im not even going to get started. I had enough of the nonsense and left. I absolutely hated this job, it was the worst experience, and I hope to God I will never find myself in a situation where I would have to come back to a place like this.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Flexible schedule for students, homemakers and retired people. This is pretty much the extent of pros for this job. There are few redeeming qualities for this company.

    Cons

Terribly, rude unorganized management. Nepotism is a glaring feature of the management. It was extremely frustrating to see managers kids promoted without merit over other hard workers.
