    Pros

Training is organized and thorough. As a GM you learn how to run a multi million dollar business from the ground up. GM's gain experience in HR management, operations management, profit management, business planning, marketing, corporate social responsibility, and much more.

    Cons

There is a tremendous amount of work to be done while serving 10's of thousands of customers per week. Not all franchisees are created equally, which results in inconsistent operations. The corporation is sucking the franchisees dry during tough economic times resulting in slim to no profits for many restaurants.

    Advice to Management

McDonald's Corporate must reduce the costs associated with being a franchisee if they wish to remain successful. The restaurants are suffering because franchisees are having a hard time investing in their own business and it is causing McDonald's to see a loss in customer counts.

    Pros

It's an okay work environment, the crew can be fun at times, and the pay is okay for the job. If you try you can move up pretty quickly as well. Overall it's a good first job.

    Cons

Obviously the customers are terrible, and the scheduling wasn't done that well, a few of my crew members often had to trade shifts because the manager doing scheduling would ignore their availability.

    Advice to Management

Lighten up, let the crew have a little fun, and please work on the scheduling problems.

    Pros

With my experience, the work a crew member is very simple. My managers were flexible with scheduling hours, if you needed to change your breaks or switch shifts with another coworker, they were able to work something out. We also get paid weekly which is nice.

    Cons

You have to be really patient with your coworkers and with customers, stress and simply rude people come with the job. It can be stressful because the work is fast paced, so you be sure to stay attentive.

    Advice to Management

Keep up with maintenance on all machines, every other day we would have problems with the McCafe dispenser, soft drink dispenser, ice cream dispenser, washing machine, trash compactor, cashier touchscreen monitors and drive-thru headsets.

    Pros

You can sometimes fill up for free on thrown out burgers and fries. There are outlets all over the world.

    Cons

The pay stinks and you can get burned on a deep fryer. Your hair smells like burgers and fries. low status.

    Advice to Management

Try to pay people better. Offer more career advancement. Offer more healthy alternatives. Play music in restaurants.
