I worked at McDonald's full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Flexible hours
Easy for anyone with leadership potential to get management experience
Gives you experience working with all types of people

    Cons

Doesn't always attract co-workers who are easy to work with
Hours depend on level of business

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your workers more. Providing incentives and merit-based raises more often will result in you keeping better workers. I've seen many good employees leave simply because they didn't feel appreciated when they do put forth effort.

I have been working at McDonald's full-time for less than a year

    Pros

It's a fast paced environment and a good way to meet people especially if you're in a small town mcdonalds. It's a good starting point for a job

    Cons

Crew honestly do not get paid enough especially if you open 5 days a week, managers love to play favorites and the one I work at isn't very much room for promotions and expect more out of you then you're really paid

Take better care of your staff

Former Employee - Technical Business Analyst in Oak Brook, IL

I worked at McDonald's full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Lots of benefits including focused personal development
    - Plenty of employee affinity networks to build relationships
    - Great internship program
    - HR is top notch
    - Bonus program can be 15% of salary
    - Lots of free food

    Cons

    - Everything is priority number one
    - Unless you are a top performer, raises and bonuses are very much a popularity contest

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

An interesting balance between desire to be first to market and a desire to be perfect seems to exist in the eyes of management. These conflicting variables cause expectations that are sometimes unreasonable. An approach more iterative in nature are good for business and good for employees.
