    -Flexible hours, everyone is understandable if you can't work certain times
    -Work with other students
    -Possibility to apply to become TA (which pays more)

    Cons

    -Not a ton of work (thus you don't earn that much per month, so problematic if this is your main priority)

    I have been working at McGill University part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    As a current full-time students, employer is very flexible regarding hours and is very understanding when I need to take time off to focus on my academics. My boss recognizes that studies are a first priority. Decent pay above the minimum wage.

    Cons

    McGill is extremely bureaucratic, often have a lack of communication between departments. The department I work in is understaffed and space constraints means people sharing offices.

    The work environment encourages opinions and interactions among employees. McGill is a university of high international standing, and there is an ample amount of resources and opportunities for networking.

    As with other institutions of this size, there are obvious bureaucratic limits, and different administrative departments need to communicate more effectively with each other.

    Ideal employment for a student looking for some part-time hours. Especially helpful if you don't speak French well enough to find employment elsewhere in Montreal. Plenty of opportunities to be promoted if you're well liked.

    Cons

    Hours can sometimes be a bit erratic. Expect to work more hours during busy school times (i.e. beginning of the academic year, during exams, etc.)
