Pros
Competitive Salary, Large Amount of Resources in the firm available to the majority of employees, Creates OK social environment
Cons
Not good at communication with employees at most levels, Holds back information until deemed neccessary by HR or management team, Feedback process is not encouraged by the majority of employees
Advice to Senior Management
Must come out the the box and realize that the world and economy are changing everyday, cant consider itself at the top when its not, must strive to be the best overall
Pros
good professional experience to begin career
Cons
long hours can be required during certain parts of the year
Advice to Senior Management
nothing further to add in this section for management to review. See other comments above for recommendatons on compensation and other factors
Pros
- National firm
- Open doors to other good opportunities
Cons
- Slower growth prospects but it all depends
Advice to Senior Management
Nothing at this time.
Pros
- Good salary if you don't think of it in terms of an hourly wage
- Young Environment is nice
Cons
- Hours are a joke (very very very long + weekends)
- No one takes time to teach you anything
- High turnover rate
Advice to Senior Management
Learn how to use the audit software, its not 1975 anymore. How can we expect to learn when the managers have no idea how to use computers?
Pros
Its got a great sundae bar. The People are nice. Free donuts if you stay late, but not always, maybe in just mky department.
Cons
Ok, first off, the smell. What is with that? I see people vacuuming all the time. Otherwise, take it if you can get it, They aren't going anywhere for a long time. you really gotta be like a walking encyclopedia to rank up.
Pros
Work life balance, flexibility, travel options, opportunities to advance
Cons
Low pay, forced to travel
Pros
A lot of nice and smart people work there. Great place to gain experience as exposure to all aspects of audit and direct contact with management almost from the first day.
Cons
No work-life balance. Great amount of overtime and everybody thinks that's the way it should be. Budgets are set too low and goals are set too high - it is impossible to achieve both at the same time and at the end of the day the evaluation rating will suffer.
Advice to Senior Management
Turnover rate could be significantly lower only if budgets would meet expectations. Consider asking why some employees work so much overtime (is the employee ineficient or the employer failed to schedule the right team) and correct it rather than promote it.
Pros
Great learning experience and good tools to learn with. People are willing to help you develop and people take pride in the firm at the upper levels.
Cons
Compensation and benefits are terrible in comparison to Big 4 and smaller firms. Depending on the location and team the hours can be just as much as Big 4.
Advice to Senior Management
Timely communicate bonuses and promotions to the employees and have them take affect similar to when other firms do. Treat your employees like you care a little.
Pros
The clients are great to work with at RSM McGladrey. That is the only part of the firm that I enjoyed!
Cons
Credit is not given where credit is due! You are held accountable to stuff that has no bearing on your job description! The Partners lie to your face and talk about you behind your back!
Pros
Clients are large local or regional companies instead of global. This enables you to reach further into the client's senior management than you would at a Big 4.
Cons
Growth outside of the firm are limited because of a lack of brand name recognition with this, the fifth largest firm.
Advice to Senior Management
Get bigger clients!
