I worked at McKesson (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's Monday through Friday only and has lots of rewards for doing a good job

    Cons

Schedule will be anytime from 7am to 9pm and goes by seniority and call quality and a ton of 4 days on and 3 days off shifts which are great for some people but not good at all for single moms that have kids in daycare since daycares close at 6:30 normally.

    Advice to Management

Have better schedules for parents that have kids in child care

    Pros

Very good people to work with. Management is hands on, but doesn't micromanage.

    Cons

Corporate takes forever ro hire from contract. Very inflexible with point system.

    Advice to Management

Be more flexible with being late. This is Atlanta traffic.

    Cons

The healthcare packages offered could be much better.

I have been working at McKesson full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

PTO Time Close to my home

    Cons

Work Environment Outdated Software Defective Computer Equipment Limited Training Disorganized and Unethical Leadership Strict Attendance Policy only for "selected" employees Favoritism is rampant Expensive Health Insurance Cost The building I work in is falling apart. Carpet is raising up from the floor to where you have to walk carefully to avoid falling. Bathrooms back up with sewage. Floors are seldom mopped or cleaned. A wall was recently constructed blocking my coworkers and I off from the bathroom, we have to walk outside the building and around to get to a bathroom. This is a bad place to work meanwhile the CEO earns billions!!!!

    Advice to Management

Please take a refresher course on Ethics and Sexual Harassment. Please do not berate your employees or make your staff work in unsafe conditions. Do not conduct meetings where the topic of conversation is about McKesson executives having red wine on a plane with Willie Nelson. This is totally inappropriate.

    Pros

Great hours 9-5 every day - not much overtime required but still a good learning experience. Would recommend to most people interested in healthcare.

    Cons

Conservative company. Behind on a lot of technology and there was a lot of turnover after I had left the summer.

    Advice to Management

Change the culture of the company to run less like a bank and be current with the trends in technology and healthcare.

    Pros

Good Benefits, provided all tools needed to work from home.

    Cons

Retired a great application solution for one that is a step backwards. I believe this poor decision has led to McKesson letting go over 2500+ employees. Should have asked for the input from the employees before investing in a software that is a POS.
