    Pros

Large company lots of resources, lots of history, is not going any where, you will not loose your job in downturn in the economy,

    Cons

there is no innovation or process improvement or thinking out side the box, the company does things the same way they have been doing it for years and years, McKesson still has paper files every where, the VP only can about themselves and how they can milk the company, little thought to the customer or work bees, no entrepreneur spirit, your voice is not heard, if you are young in your 20s good luck because everyone one is 50+

    Advice to Management

listen to the younger generation they are going to change things and higher younger professionals who can adept quickly to changes in technology verse employees who are reward for years of time with the company yet they have done nothing to improve the process, .....lastly go paperless ....you are killing trees

    Pros

Great people, stable company, easy access to public transportation, office views

    Cons

Salaries are extremely below market rates, healthcare benefits are terrible and super expensive, takes forever to get things done, too much beaurocracy

    Advice to Management

Talk of investing in their people and desire to retain talent are empty words.

Very corporate and bureaucratic, and easy to feel like one of many.

Avoid McKesson at all costs - it all begins with poor leadership

    Pros

    - Free filtered water
    - Pretty views from the high rise building in downtown SF.

    Cons

    - First off, Mckesson is an old-boys club. The upper management men keep to themselves, and only promote very young, very inexperienced men with freshly minted MBAs. The inexperience leadership is very weak and short sighted..
    - The ethics line and HR will not help you if you are discriminated against. HR and employee relations only work for McKesson, not for you.
    - Titles are highly inflated. On my floor of 65+ people, 75% are directors or managers.
    - No one is held accountable for their work
    - Leadership moves numbers and money around to reflect them in their favor
    - Departments are run with low budgets because that's what invesors want.
    - Very, very, very low pay. No bonuses if you aren't in a certain pay grade.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees. McKesson will benefit from giving employees such things as free coffee and better pay. For a company of its size, Mckesson has very, very poor benefits.

    Pros

    Consistent company management
    OK benefits
Attempting to meet customer requirements for better service
People are nice; there is very little personal animosity.

    Cons

McKesson has become more and more bureaucratic as the SAP system has grown. It takes a tremendous amount of planning to move relatively small changes into production.

    Advice to Management

Customers are not satisfied with the cost and turnaround for changes to the system. Needs to be improved.

    Pros

Many options to work in various departments (speaking from experience in 10 years I've been in operations, six sigma, contracting sales and marketing). Very laid back culture with a great work like balance.

    Cons

If you stay with company and not looking to move up eventually the pay won't be what you could get in other positions, but there is so much training and opportunity to advance you can keep up with market averages

  10. Better than my other jobs.

    Pros

Fair pay based on your locations. Several bonuses for meeting performance standards. Short commute (Work from home). Reimbursement for education.

    Cons

Time off is easy to apply for but difficult to get approved. Health benefits are somewhat expensive

    Advice to Management

Work out a better plan for time off during the holidays. Other than that everything is pretty good.
