    Pros

There just aren't a lot of other places that will give you so much responsibility right out of school. I do think I learned a lot. I liked the variety of functions, industries and people. Compensation is very good.

    Cons

Work life balance is poor and the travel is tiresome. After a couple of years the excitement of switching projects every couple of months wears off.

    Advice to Management

Keep offering flexibility programs that allow consultants to take more time off.

    Pros

    Diverse and talented coworkers, compensation

    Cons

Stress-inducing culture, work can be on very boring topics

    Advice to Management

Try to promote a more nurturing culture - sometimes it feels like the teams try to squeeze the most juice out of you without thinking about his/ her growth needs

    Pros

    - Non-negotiable values - I have seen us walk away from clients because we did not believe what they wanted us to do was right for them - Great place to get coached and mentored - it always amazes me how responsive anyone is if you ask for help - Pro-active and meaningful emphasis on preferences/workstyle and personal life balance

    Cons

    - Need to be very proactive in managing your network - out of sight out of mind, esp for niche sectors/topics to work on that have a high geographic skew

    Pros

The work is interesting, colleagues are talented, great work environment and perks, excellent exit options. You really can't go wrong by working at McKinsey. The alumni network is very strong and it's a great resume enhancer.

    Cons

The biggest con is the lifestyle, primarily the travel. If you don't mind being away from home 3-4 nights per week, it's doable, but if you do mind it might not be a great fit.
