    Pros

Good $, Great benefits, lots of work/job security. Always go out with two people on the load.

    Cons

Plan on putting your hands on 30,000+ lbs of product every load between you and your partner. You can also plan on walking 10 to 15 miles per load while delivering.

    Advice to Management

Continue what you are doing....Good job!

    Pros

3 days scheduled off if you don't get mandatory called in. Which will happen. that is IT

    Cons

They play with the times. You give hard effort should be 100% for the day but magically your at a 90% they do this so you work harder the production #s look good so management gets
bonuses you get injured then they say its preventable then there is a target on your back & get fired!

    Advice to Management

Stop lying. Stand up for the workers. If you cant do it then don't crack the whip. Stop manipulating the assignment system making it harder for selectors. Grow a backbone.

    Pros

Great pay, great benefits, raises were yearly and decent.

    Cons

Management was inept, at best. The ones in charge of the plant had no idea what they were doing and had no qualms about messing up your personal life by messing with your schedules.

    Listen to employees more.

    Pros

Very well known within the industry. The largest of all its competitors. Company is secure and will be around for years to come.

    Cons

Not great for Sales or marketing, very "operationally" focused. Sales positions do a lot more account managing then anything else.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to appreciate salaried employees.

    Pros

    Great pay and Excellent benefits.

    Cons

At the High Plains Division (Lubbock), certain managers do not know how to manage people - no people skills, but they have been promoted to supervisory/management positions. Division is highly political. There is a lot of "you scratch my back; I'll scratch yours" going on. Claim to be a "teammate" employment; however, the only "team" is the management team, which with the exception of the Division President seems to only be concerned about themselves and how they look, as individuals, to the rest of the company. They try to "buy" the teammates when it comes time to teammate appreciation week instead of authentically showing the teammates that they genuinely care about them as individuals. Non-management exempt teammates are grossly under-appreciated.

    Advice to Management

High Plains Division management needs to learn that they can show appreciation to the teammates in other ways than just buying/bribing them. Genuine concern/appreciation can be shown by simply acknowledging the teammates and listening with interest and concern to what they say. A simple "thank you" goes a long way whether it is said in private to the individual, to the teammate at the teammate meetings, or in a note to that teammate.
