    Pros

Safe place to work. Great people to work with. Plenty of overtime to be had.

    Cons

Pay could be better but you can make up for it with overtime. Sometimes being friends with upper management will get you promoted over being the best candidate for the job.

I have been working at MeadWestvaco full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

MWV Specialty Chemicals has been a great place to work because they truly invest in their employees. The leadership team promotes ownership of work and gives appropriate levels of authority to allow employees to grow and develop. There is a lot of effort put into developing strong teams and common goals. There is also very strong adherence to ideals of safety, ethics, and environmental compliance.

    Cons

As with any large company, there are occasional bureaucracy headaches that must be managed. The focus on IT (computer systems, software, and support) leaves something to be desired.

    Advice to Management

Continue to promote the ownership and BOLD culture in the organization. Rewarding successes and failures when employees act in good faith and using sound judgement will continue to pay dividends down the road.
