I have been working at Meals on Wheels

    Pros

A great team that gets to know their clients. There is more than just meals delivered. The personal contact is worth everything.

    Cons

I can't think of any cons. It is self fulfilling and the reward is much more than anyone can imagine.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The management is informed and caring and stays on top of everything. Meals is fortunate to have the leadership that they have,

I worked at Meals on Wheels as an intern (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Very friendly staff
    - Busy Environment
    - Making someone's day
The greatest thing about this company is it's moral. It doesn't sacrifice love for the customers so if you're a lousy person don't join 'em. There are some customers who only see the drivers their whole day so it's vital to maintain patience and happiness during your shift. Your objective is to make customers happy, there is nothing wrong with putting on a smile and producing some small talk.

    Cons

    - Snappy customers at times (due to age of course and this shouldn't be a con, think of this as a heads up)
    - Pretty early hours
The only bad thing is it's early work because the majority require breakfast but to those who are early birds this job is great.

I have been working at Meals on Wheels

    Pros

Mission driven. Teamwork encouraged. Invests in staff. Staff encouraged to deliver meals to clients which really drives home the importance of what we do every day. Good work-life balance. Transparent and responsible to staff, donors, volunteers, the board, and community supporters.

    Cons

The only real negative is that as Meals on Wheels is a nonprofit, the pay is what you would expect at a nonprofit. MOW is a good steward of our supporters' time and money, but it is hard to live on a nonprofit income.
