I have been working at MedSolutions full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Can work from home, fast paced and interesting. Good benefits packages pretty consistently. Great financial plan and overall, great pay for clinical staff. Promotions have run the course over many years going originally from a "favorite" type of thing to a much more objective and balanced process, allowing a lot more promotions over the more recent years.

    Cons

Metrics are still part of the big scene, and it's a tough balancing act between quality and metrics. QA originally was very micro, but shifted to more evidence based.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to listen to your employees and be receptive to things that make the business better. It feels like the door may be closing on that, and it would truly be a shame to see that happen.

    Pros

This organization is doing everything to live out its mission of improving the quality of patient healthcare. Employees are committed to the mission and excited about their futures with the company. Leaders are honest, transparent, caring, although expectations are high.

    Cons

It's challenging to keep up with the fast pace. The company is trying to build infrastructure in the midst of high growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't overwork your employees. Lose egos. Recognize individuals in simple ways. Give credit where it is due. Hold people accountable and give them the benefit of the doubt. Pay for skills, abilities, and experience.

    Cons

Micromanaging, rude calls from doctor's offices and management expects you to take it with a "smile", Calls are audited by QA & points taken off for everything

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The actual job can be confusing and difficult even after the 5 week training program. you must pay attention. Just a lot of information. Also, being on the phone 8 hrs a day non stop can be tiring.

    Pros

    Sorry none to share here

    Cons

Some of the challenges I've encountered was with management, management tells you they have an open door policy and to feel free to come in at any time for any issues or concerns. Well, when you actually do come to them as advised, they claim they will look into your issues and ensure you not to worry everything will be ok. When actually they really arent looking into your issues or concerns at all, they plot and plan with HR to get rid of the employee only because you come to them with a genuine concern. They have their favorites and will try there best to get rid of whoever's in the way so that they can give their buddy your job. Management is so unprofessional I.e. they discuss other employees with the door open so that other employees can hear (employees have made statements of over hearing conversations of other employees, which were inappropriate). Meanwhile you go to management or senior management expressing your concerns and again nothing was ever done. They act like they are going to follow up and never do. They run all the good employees away and keep all the trouble makers. They had one good supervisor that is no longer there, due to there disrespect and favoritism. I miss her and wish her well. Take my advice, if you want to be treated with respect and dignity, don't work for the claims dept at Medsolutions in Franklin Tn.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop showing favoritism and treat everyone with the same respect! Just maybe moral will be up and the dept will run much smoother....

    Pros

Company has a lot of people who want to improve process and make the place a World Class Healthcare Partner.

    Cons

Crazy expensive health insurance. Makes no sense for a healthcare company.
Low pay. Sure the execs aren't struggling.
Plenty of attempted communication between groups but not much interest in understanding from executives. Too many plans kept between them and not enough inclusion with others to help bring details and realistic expectations to the forefront.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen. Attempt to learn and understand some details. Then maybe you won't just give orders and create unreal expectations. Punishing failure after giving unreal expectations hurts moral.

    Pros

This company does give you all the tools you need to perform the job to their expectations. The benefits are okay.

    Cons

This job is not for people who think out of the box nor those who dislike constant monitoring. The company likes to sell itself as being patient driven but you find out in no time that the company is just another corporation out to make a big dollar. They will sell their quarterly bonus program on candidates without mentioning that they make the bonuses increasingly difficult to obtain PLUS if you don't consistently qualify for a bonus minimum you are subject to being fired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Shift your business from one of call center environment which is an outdated way of doing business to a quota business based both on numbers and quality. Make your wages more competitive. Remember that the biggest percentage of your employees are professionals and do not need team leads treating them like they are children.
