Pros
Great Place to Work and Develop your Healthcare Career. So much to learn, which is in itself the biggest challenge to anyone.
Cons
Great Place to Work and Develop your Healthcare Career. So much to learn, which is in itself the biggest challenge to anyone. That said, Future is uncertain at the moment.
Pros
The level of experience within Medco and certain departments is top-notch. The flexibility offered in my department, and the intangibles associated with it, will be difficult to match at a nother company. My direct senior managemnt is second to none.
Cons
We diversified too much and made too many bad investments, that put us in this bad position. Some groups are a little top heavy, limiting growth in your department. Generally I think the compensation is good, but is way below what pharma companies pay.
Advice to Senior Management
We should have stuck to our guns and invested more heavily in strategic clients/aquisitions that would have positioned us to compete for the next 10 years,
Pros
I've worked there for ten years, some departments are better than others. I find that if you work for clinicians and aren't one, you will have a tough time. I don't agree that pharmacists should be in leadership positions as their lack of business experience is apparent. Other than that, the company is great and we're all just holding tight waiting to see what Express will do.
Cons
Working for clinicians with no or little business experience.
Advice to Senior Management
Put business people in management positions. You will get the best bang for your buck, just because someone is a pharmacist or an IT person, does not mean they are good leaders.
Pros
Smart people innovative. Good benefits.
Cons
Back stabbing tattle telling to advance one's career. Was a great place to work when was owned by Merck. Quality of character of employees took a hit when it spun off. Standards lowered in manufacturing sector.
Pros
Benefits are a plus with the company.
Cons
No work life balance exists.
Advice to Senior Management
Hire from us and not offshore.
Pros
Smart people, very devoted and focused on helping people, long-term employee ownership culture, good benefits package although it has been getting worse, work - life balance
Cons
Insular management team that does not and did not recognize the impact of changes in healthcare that are ongoing, afraid of big decisions, very conservative
Pros
Benefits are good
Pay is good
Most coworkers are nice but it is a call center so the usual drama applies
Lots of overtime incentives
Cons
Constant changes to EVERYTHING
Some of the stuff you are expected to say on calls is very unneccessary
Pressure to work overtime
Advice to Senior Management
Hire more people instead of trying to force people to work over time. Ok job done communicating information about the up coming merger.
Pros
Good Benefits the pay is competitive and it cares for its clients and patients. Work well to help the employees and hear the things they are concerned about.
Cons
A lot of changes made and the whole picture is not always considered. There are many changes that are made and it ends up worse and noone seems to admit it and make the employees adapt to the changes. The streamline structure just implemented is very impersonal and it is not working or pratical. Good idea but not operationally effective
Advice to Senior Management
Take inventory of the various people skills that are around you and utilize them instead of being indtimidated by them. The more you know the better equipted you will be in the future and be more flexible toward change.
Pros
Good work life balance especially in emergencies.
Managers seem to care about you personally
There are many areas for career growth and movements
Cons
Some of growth opportunities are determined by who you know not by your work performance.
Some of the metrics that are used to judge your work are not suitable to your role, but management will not review the goals.
Advice to Senior Management
they should look at the departments to make sure the given goals are actually relevant to the teams they are judging.
Pros
Decent money and benefits, time off
Cons
Too large of company, lay offs
Advice to Senior Management
Need to have more communication between departments
