If you can survive here, you can survive anywhere else

Senior Account Manager (Current Employee) Singapore (Singapore)

ProsA stepping stone into the media industry. Noone will reject MediaCorp. It's a comfortable place for work life balance. 21 days annual leave with great transportation and mobile allowances.

ConsIn sales, you got to play the political game well. Have to suck up to your bosses and seniors. people relations are important to climb up the corporate ladder and to get things done, you have to make friends with internal people. Internal stakeholders are more important. Spend alot of time clearing internal processes and talking to internal depts to get things done. Great accounts are taken by long time sales staffs so freshies have to start from ground zero. accounts for sales are everything

Advice to Senior ManagementHave realistic goals and be involved with the middle management processes. some of them are absurb and management lack of communication to the below - end up with too ambitious targets. Get down to the ground, hear the clients, hear it from the horses' mouths then make the better judgement for the companies policies and goals. time to reflect the reasons behind the high turnover rates.

    Big company but bad management

Senior Executive (Current Employee) Singapore (Singapore)

Pros21 days leave, long lunch hours

ConsEveryday clearing the mess from other people.
    Expectations so high and unrealistic
Low pay yet need to do 5 people's job
Increment is so little not even $100 every year
They don't care if you have worked hard for so many projects. To rise here you just need to be in bosses good books so even if you do NOTHING and just simply SHOUT about one thing you have done, you can get recognised.

Advice to Senior ManagementWake up. Can't you learn from the high turnover rate?!
