I worked at Medical College of Wisconsin full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, good people in most areas of the org, good leaders and good technology

    Cons

The HR department is horrible, turn over is incredibly high in that department and the leadership team including the directors in HR treat people very poorly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You really need all new leadership in HR, these are the people that should be setting standards for the rest of the org and they have trouble maintaining a staff because of how they treat them.

I have been working at Medical College of Wisconsin full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It is the only one private medical college in Wisconsin. Many professional people work here, and you can learn a lot from them.

    Cons

I do not know if there are any downsides in this college. Cuz I really have a great time here.

    Pros

High character workforce, great location, complexity of projects, ample opportunity to challenge yourself at different aspects

    Cons

Salary not always aligned with national averages, opportunity for career growth is limited, Milwaukee not the greatest city to live in

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Creating more opportunity for growth will increase the number of qualified people who stay at MCW long-term

I worked at Medical College of Wisconsin full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Can't work anywhere else in Wisconsin

    Cons

The place runs like "the old boy's club" of Marquette. The sleazeballs all protect each other and single out anyone who won't conform to their wants. This atmosphere does not foster creativity or original thought. The people with real talent leave.

    Pros

Employees are valued and professional development is encouraged. Colleagues are great people--many became good friends. My department offered workshops and learning activities weekly. I had the opportunity to attend lectures multiple times per day.
Great benefits! Generous vacation and sick days. Great insurance.

    Cons

The cafeteria leaves something to be desired.

Former Employee - Assistant Professor in Milwaukee, WI

I worked at Medical College of Wisconsin full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    The salaries are very generous.

    Cons

A very negative culture that is based on a discriminatory hierarchy. Unless you are a physician, you are perceived as being "less than and lower on the medical food chain." Fear pervades the place and questioning authority ends quite often in dismissal. In general, they do not practice what they espouse.

    Doesn't Recommend
