    Good place for growth

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsA few opportunities to grow if you put yourself out there. You have the ability to earn PTO without being full-time. A lot of people within the company are willing to share knowledge to help you grow! It's very nice to work somewhere you feel like part of a team rather than a pawn in a plan that benefits others.

ConsThere are certain levels of stopping points for that growth you access depending on your focus within the industry. There is a tendency to get overworked with the compensation being a "good job" or "it's part of the job." The health insurance is not that amazing.

    Profit-driven

Front Desk/Child Care (Current Employee) Oceanside, NY

ProsFlexible, on-site training provided, good training opportunities

ConsProfit -driven vs. community need driven. This is a large corporation which manages many fitness/health care facilities. Often they are not at the actual site and do not have inside knowledge of the community they are serving.

Advice to Senior ManagementInstead of relying on income-based reports, take into considerations other factors of this community (age, race, do a survey for the types of services they will need.) Personal training here might be very different from another gym.

Health Fitness Specialist (Current Employee) Omaha, NE

ProsGood atmosphere, the people who work here are nice enough

ConsTerrible compensation and benefits. They will try to weasel their way out of paying you every way they can.

Advice to Senior ManagementShow more concern to your lower level people, and maybe everyone won't quit after 4 months.

Small company handling big corporate sites

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsHave decent benefits, and the president of the company is awesome.

ConsNeed to work on becoming more technologically savvy, figure out what's best for the client vs what's best for Medifit.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind regional directors that are quick to respond & open to new ways of running corporate sites.

Great teammates at client sites, limited opportunities, ongoing organizational issues at corporate-level.

    Program Manager (Current Employee)

Pros- Great teammates to work with at individual client sites; typically younger, energetic, and driven employees
    - Great entry-level opportunity for recent college grads; can gain valuable experience in many different areas of the corporate fitness industry.
    - Decent benefits for FT employees (it helps to work for a fitness/wellness company).

Cons- Poor compensation in terms of salary for FT positions, especially considering the requirements for these positions (college degree plus additional certifications, etc.)
    - Constant reorganization occuring at the corporate level, which essentially leads to constant disorganization within several departments.
    - Lack of advancement opportunities once you reach the Program Manager level.
    - Strong disconnect between senior management and site-based staff.
    - Regional Directors have too much on their plates; they are forced to spend all of their time addressing business needs, which limits their abilities to work on developing staff.

Advice to Senior Management- Develop an organizational structure that can support the evolving business needs of the industry.
    - Invest properly in areas necessary to support company growth (i.e. HR).
    - Develop a more formalized program to support employee development.
