Advice to Senior Management
Look into a mirror
Pros
To know that what you do can actually benefit the lives of others.
Cons
People do not enjoy sharing the knowledge. The get all the knowledge they can, Then they sit on the can and watch you try to figure it out.
Advice to Senior Management
I believe "ALL" people managers should be given a yearly overview of their expectations as a simple reminder.
Pros
You're working for a Highly Regarded Company. Medtronic has Good Benefits. Some jobs like mine afford you a Flexible work schedule. The company pays you according to fair market value which results in a Competitive salary
Cons
The corporate atmosphere is negative due to recent layoffs. Other companies are coming out with similar competitive products. Too many old reps left over from the old days that don't know how to sell.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees. Provide better incentives than Recognize points. Truly learn to develop your talents. Fire all of the middle managers who do nothing.

Cons
Management struggling to determine what direction to proceed. This results in confusion and stress among the rank and file employees.
Advice to Senior Management
After selecting a strategy to execute on give it time before switching to a new strategy. If you do need to change do lessons learned beforehand.

Advice to Senior Management
Omar's introductory address was great, follow through on what he said. Particularly treating people with respect and loyalty
Pros
Corporate mission, products that enhance lives, good reputation, co-workers.
Peers are supportive in helping address problems and sharing knowledge and experience.
Flexible work hours.
Cons
Seeming "good ol' boy" mentality with middle management; difficult to navigate career growth via upward mobility or cross-transfer between business units . . . incongruent with what is preached by management.
Some management seem very false/disingenuous in persona and in interaction with direct reports.
HR is as useful as HS guidance counselors relative to career advice.
Risk averse; innovation by acquisition.
Cumbersome policies to drive objectives and product development.
Advice to Senior Management
Re-capture the innovative culture and instill employee belief in direction and industry leadership of company. Stand behind corporate mantra and motivate your employee base. Drive cultural differentiation within industry rather than baselining to the competition.
Pros
- great pay
-good products
-smart people
-good reputation
Cons
- forward facing to patients, need clinical specialists
Pros
Fantastic people (not all, but most)
Mission driven - people really care about patients
Great pay and benefits
You can learn a lot - jobs are broad based and there are tons of people that will help you learn.
Cons
Company is plateauing and becoming commoditized. Without leadership's willingness to impact margins, they will continue to squeeze costs, meaning people. Layoffs wont discontinue until leadership takes the changing market head on.
Advice to Senior Management
Recognize that the market is changing. The margins cant stay where they are. Take the one time stock hit and realign yourselves with the changing environment. Otherwise continued layoffs will push the remaining people over the edge with too much work and too much stress.
Pros
Good benefits, great work culture
Cons
Too much politics, too many changes in the recent past
Advice to Senior Management
