Horrible place to work - Miami location

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Miami, FL

    ProsFree coffee, People share nicely

ConsYou will be required to work at a moments notice overtime and on your days off (weekends)
If you get approved vacation they will disapprove last minute so don't urchase airline tickets or non-refundable tickets.
The cubes are very small. They won't purchase desk chairs that are comfortable, current seats are very old and uncomfortable. Management staff like to embarrass you in front of others by talking down to you loudly.
HR dept cannot be trusted, nothing is kept confidential.
Horrible place to work, a lot of turnover here in Miami

Advice to Senior ManagementReplace all managers here!

    Bait and switch

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe employees are caring folks who are absolutely overwhelmed with the work load.

ConsI joined Meggitt based on a negotiated salary and bonus package. The only problem is Meggitt pays bonuses based on favoritism, rather than performance. I held up my end of the bargain by working two jobs; they didn't meet their financial obligation to me.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou are far too Eurocentric and completely out of touch with your US employees. Setting impossible standards is not a way to motivate people. It is a way to guarantee high turn-over rates.

Overall solid seeming company, some apparent frictions between management and engineering staff

Engineering Assistant (Current Employee) Corona, CA

Pros-Good place for someone with a solid understanding of high-level control theory to use their skills
    -Strong camraderie among staff
    -Good support for new employees

Cons-Disagreement on engineering process between engineers and management
-Seemed like habitual overtime was an expected occurrence
-Corona location is a tough commute
-If working on defense industry applications is a problem you may want to consider a different place

    Great benefits... Poor Management!

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat benefits and a mostly friendly atmosphere.

ConsUpper Management doesn't seem to be able to fix problems. They implement processes to fix processes which never fix anything.

Good company to work for with a good future.

Customer Account Manager (Former Employee) Montreal, QC (Canada)

ProsMeggitt performs well against its competitors, many are much larger than Meggitt. The name is well known and respected within the markets of engagement. Competitive salary and benefits with good learning opportunities. Very active in continuous improvement and customer focused.

ConsThought the company values are good, senior management can struggle at times to hear the good ideas from within the teams.
If you struggle in a dynamic matrix environment consider how you would adapt before jumping in.

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate opportunities, forums and strong processes for allowing new ideas to develop from within.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
